I am not one to post reviews, but my family and I were looking forward to having a meal or two while we were here. When we first walked in, we were pleasantly surprised by the vibe and service. All of us ended up ordering many different dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious! We ended up eating here at least once or twice everyday. The consistency of the dishes from the pizza, ribs and appetizers were amazing. We personally met the chef, Jonathan. He was very friendly and personable. His dishes would be a reason for us to come back again!!!
We really enjoyed our time at Dry Rocks. Our server, Andito, was AMAZING. Our drinks and food came quickly and Andito made sure to check in regularly and made sure to aknowledge our anniversary, which was so sweet! We got pina coladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp lobster nachos which we LOVED. We highly reccomend both. The swing booths and view were outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed it and even came back the next day for the same thing, although the service was not great the next time - the servers were slow/one was rude, the nachos were a bit inconsistent (had less toppings than the previous time), and we disliked our drink (a paloma). During our second visit, the female bartender was rude and ignored me and the people next to me for quite some time to the point where I went to the other bar stand to get a drink. Food service took a while to get despite several employees standing nearby, and a dirty straw was left on the bar in front of me. Our nachos came before our drinks the second time.
Overall, our first experience with Andito was so amazing that I am still giving 5 stars, but the rest of the crew needs to get closer to her level!
Paid so much for a “luxury” resort but instead endured barking dogs, screaming kids, overcrowding, rude people, unhelpful staff, and extremely overpriced food. Ordered room service the first night- staff was unhelpful when it came to finding gluten free options under the dine-in menu on their website. Ended up having to go to the restaurant and take pictures of the menu, go back to the room and order. This was after multiple phone calls trying to get help. Took over an hour to receive food. Came cold, drink missing, and we were charged a $25 delivery fee. Can also only order room service from one of the two restaurants. Costed over $17 for two coffees that tasted awful. The room was moderate at best. Felt like a basic hotel stay rather than a resort stay. The Keurig was stored in the closet and in order to use it, had to be pulled from the closet and set somewhere with an outlet. Found ourselves using it the bathroom. Nicest part of this resort is the entrance and the small restaurant connected to that. Other than that, place is only good if you want to pay over $100 per meal, hear barking and screaming all day/night, and constantly deal with rude people. Honestly, the list goes on but we won’t be returning.
What a wonderful place to stay. We felt like we were at a resort in Mexico. Our view from room 422 in the Hammock Wing was awesome.
Servers are great people, but because there are not enough of them, you will wait 30 mins to be recognized and wait another 30 for a drink….. food sucks at a level typical of the keys—- scarf jimmy johns in your room and buy a bottle —- this place is an over - priced mistake we wont make again
Really really nice, always great food which is freshly made and worth the $.
Great drinks selection including cold beers.
The burger was one of the best I've ever had, the fries are excellent too.
The chicken fajitas are worth the cost and had so much chicken some was left at the end, good taste and quality.
Definitely worth a visit
I had the shrimp, not much you can do wrong with peel and eat shrimp, my wife had the quesadilla and there was burned fried cheese on the outside that just didnt taste good at all. The service was beyound bad. When the waitress came to take our order she cooked her head to the side and said well... when we first ordered our drinks I received a coke instead of a jack and coke. My wifes drink was overly sweet. After tak8ng our order we did not see the waitress again till she bought the bill. We ended up flagging down the staff or walking over to the bar. If not for the great atmosphere there would have been very little to say positive here. Just to give you a little perspective on how long it took to get our drinks, when we checked in our room wasn't ready so they did a precheckin, we went to dry rocks ordered our drinks after sitting there for 15 minutes. 5 minutes later I got a call from the front desk letting us know they had our room ready. I went down to the front desk and was 3rd in line with only 1 person at the front desk. After checking in, 20 plus minutes later I return to our table where my wife was stillpatiently waiting our drinks to arrive. Then they dropped off the coke. Took that to the bar, let them know and return to the table. We watched the bar tender ask a couple people about then once they found our waitress the bar tender made our drinks and gave them to her. Hum think someone forgot to take the order up. There policy of including the tip of 20% hurts their servers motivation to provide good service.
new manager effected positively
Lovely resort hidden away from the eye, great chill atmosphere. Overall could be a nice experience but unfortunately the whole enterprise being the hospitality business, severely lacks hospitality.
We had booked a day pass experience and reception desk of a staff of 2 was majorly preoccupied servicing 1 guest, without any recognition of the fact that other guests are waiting in line. Once they liberated themselves, they tended to me. Provided the bracelet and unless asked, directed us to the beach.
During lunch, we visited Dry Rocks. The name speaks for itself. Dry. From a very moderate menu, everything was dry: steak tacos - please do not order. The meat is dry as hell. I’m 30 and consider to have very good teeth line - couldn’t chew any of it, spitting the leftovers of un chewable meat. Fish tacos. Next best - hard no, you won’t find the fish in the taco. Small slice covered with pico de gallo mix. Feel like chef has just got acquainted with Latin culture. No concept of flavor. The I said let’s go to the safe bet: guac and chips. Why!??? God. Fail. Guac just got scooped off the avocado shell, sprig of cilantro added. They’re either short on salt, pepper and seems like there’s a major shortage of cilantro as well. No flavor, no taste.
Getting the order to the table also took good 30 minutes. That’s for the place that sells nothing but tacos, guys.
Much higher expectations. Will we come back after paying $150 per person for a day pass? Driving all the way from Miami?
I don’t think so. It was an experience though.
I was really impressed with how clean and beautiful the property was. It’s well staffed with kind professional people, thoughtful from water at check in to all the free activities. Games in the lobby, sunset champagne toast, easy free access to beach towels. You also never feel crowded because everything is nicely spread out. I really enjoyed our stay and would gladly be back!

Service was great by all, we dined here 3 nights of our week stay in the Keys at Bakers Cay resort. Cocktails were strong but delicious. Food, amazing, the whole fish is a must have! The ambiance is beautiful weather it be day or night, different types of seating options including swings over looking the beach. We enjoyed the live music Friday evening, the covers songs were very nostalgic.
Thank you!
