Harriette's Restaurant Bayside, Mile Marker 95.7 Key Largo, FL 33037 4 Stars Stopping for some morning chow at Harriette's Restaurant in Key Largo should be a requirement for everyone traveling down the Overseas Hwy exploring the vast beauty of the Keys. However, once again, my taste buds are ahead of my fingers and I get ahead of myself. As I entered Harriette's Restaurant, I was immediately transported back to my Grandmother's house on the Sebastian River. Not only was the outside reminiscent of a bygone era, the décor ; screamed mid-century time capsule, however, it was the scents assaulting my olfactory orifice that had me looking for my favorite chair at Grandma's table. This may be in the Keys, but I am confident that it ain't no tourist trap. Christina was my server for the meal and was exemplary in every way. She began her service with a sincere, warm Southern greeting, making all her customers feel like family. We are in Grand Ma-Ma's house, after all. I asked my new favorite second cousin twice removed on my mother's brother's babysitter's side for a stack of Pancakes, an order of their Corned Beef Hash, two eggs over medium, Sausage Biscuit, hash browns, and one more biscuit as they looked so good. While I didn't try one, If you take a peek at the pics, you can see that they have quite a panoply of muffins and are well known for them. Christina soon returned with our Southern viands, and I eagerly got to work. Have I mentioned the aromas disseminating about the place? I slapped some butter on the stack of fresh-off-the-griddle Johnny Cakes, poured some real maple syrup over the top and plopped a forkful in my mouth. The cakes were warm, fluffy and delicious. Nothing beats a flapjack right off the griddle with real maple syrup. Nothing. However, I wasn't here to enjoy sampling their delectable delights; I was on a mission to bring you raw, unadulterated food reviews. To that end, I turned my fastidious palate to the Corned Beef Hash before me. This was quite good. I don't think it was made in the back, as the cut was too uniform for most line cooks. If it was food service Hash, at least it wasn't bottom-of-the-truck stuff. It was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My eggs were cooked correctly, the hash browns were obviously made fresh to order and the sausage gravy was spot on. Finally, the biscuit was not only gigantic; it was obviously made with love and pure devotion to the obvious -- care. Is this place going to win a James Beard award? No. Is it my new favorite place for breakfast in the Keys? Maybe. I know one thing for sure: Harriette's Restaurant is an excellent breakfast for a splurge vacation to the Florida Archipelago. The Big Boy says, “Enjoy the homemade grub and if you try a muffin, please let me know!”

Homemade biscuits that are huge and comes out the size of a square coffee cake. We didn't care for them as they didn't taste like a biscuit to us. The rest of the food was very good. Service was fast but not really friendly. No smiles from the waitress.

Ate here today for breakfast - second time and I will never go back. I don’t know what the hype is about. The place is dirty and the waitress we had initially was very rude. We were so close to the bathrooms I could smell the cleaning chemicals they used in them. We asked to move to a table that was just vacated and our waitress was so rude about it. The food isn’t that spectacular and compared to other places in this area nothing special. The muffins are good and I would get those to go. But the atmosphere, cleanliness and the staff really make the restaurants around here. Keep driving.

Great little restaurant with an inviting atmosphere, friendly service, tasty food, and low prices. I had the breakfast burrito and a slice of the ice cream based key lime pie. 10/10 would recommend.

Well my hoodies, The Hood has made his ways to the Keys! Yeah those Keys. Just like in Kokomo and Margaritaville!! The Hood was at Henrietta’s and let’s say ENJOYING it!! This is a place The Hood recommends you grab some morsels of nutrients! Let’s start with the food: The Hood got some Benedict Crab on a biscuit. Wait did I say biscuit I meant BISCUIT!!! That thing was Big! And the meal was delicious! Everything cooked to YUM status! My hoodie got a plain ole western omelette however it was a nice size and on the delicious scale along with a BISCUIT! So the food was Awesome!! Service: Incredible!!! Very friendly and there was a little singing I heard and very energetic! So the atmosphere was good, a little quaint place and clean. So The Hood says get yourself to Henrietta’s and get some muffins at the end take them home or eat them there but they were YUM ? that’s right awesome muffins!! Until the next food adventure you should know by now what The Hood says be kind to your server, be kind to each other and food adventure is out there!!!! Oh forgot ask for the homemade hot sauce not to hot a little sweet but awesome! ?

You will not be disappointed! Fantastic homemade food...
Dear Harriette, WE LOVE your restaurant, food, staff and muffins. Only one recommendation- PLEASE FIX THE GLUTEN FREE MUFFIN. It’s so dry and tasteless compared to all your other muffins.
PRO TIP- get the “cup to cup ratio” GF flour and you can make ANY of your recipes by just swapping flour. If it’s dry, just reduce the flour in the recipe a little bit!
Love a Loyal and regular customer!

We stopped in yesterday on our drive to Key West. My son asked for chicken and waffles for his birthday, so we decided on Harriette's. He enjoyed his birthday brunch. I had the Crab Benedict on a huge homemade biscuit, which was amazing, and my husband had the shrimp and grits, which was even better. Of course, we ordered some muffins to go. Currently, I am having the chocolate coconut one for breakfast. So good! This place is fantastic, and I love the building. I might have to go back and get a t shirt.
