Stayed a couple days at Playa Largo and we thought we were going to explore the area for different restaurants and food, yet soon enough realized the best is right there at our reach. We ate and dined at Sol by the Sea right on premises and I must tell you without taking away from the food and other staff, one person made our last night at staying there supper special with her kindness and professionalism was the food and beverage manager, Vivian
Bissada.
Thank you Vivian for putting up with us.
We will be back there sooner than later.

Outstanding food, views and service. We were lucky enough to get there early and sit at the bar since we had no reservation. This was a nice bonus with the sunset right behind us and elevated views. The grouper was fresh, perfectly cooked and paired with amazing flavors.

Our dinner the next night at Pierre’s (an OG favorite) was less impressive, due to how well the food was prepared at Sol.

Magical night at Sol by the Sea. Given the reviews, we didn't know quite what to expect, but the staff, service and food were all top notch. The view at sunset is simply divine. We will definitely return on our next trip to Key Largo.

We came all the way from SoBe to enjoy a day away from all the craziness and this place definitely hits all our expectations! From the lovely server KayDian, the chef Robert to the food, desserts and drinks. The made us feel so welcomed! Definitely a MUST if you are coming to key largo. Thanks to all the staff

The food it’s a must, the burguer was on point , the French fries it’s exactly what u get when u think in crispy but soft a completely OMG, and that dosnt include the paradisiac waterfront view from everywhere on the restaurant, the server kaydian was very attentive and the chef Robert even came to the table to say hello, a perfect spot for any occasion, definitely recommended!

I had such a great experience at Sol by the Sea! The vibe was super relaxed and the view was amazing. I ordered the fish tacos and they were absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our server, Kaydien, was incredibly kind and attentive, which made everything even better. Plus, the chef Robert even came over to talk to us, which made the experience feel really personal and special. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

The service was amazing - our servier KayDian was very polite and smooth with her service. The chef Robert came out personally to introduce himself and congratulate the birthday to one of our friends. Overall the experience was everything we were looking for, not too intrusive, relaxing and with a good view!

I was genuinely shocked by how terrible this year’s Mother’s Day brunch was at Sol by the Sea, especially after how amazing it was last year. Last year’s experience had multiple live cooking stations, an ice sculpture overflowing with seafood, and a vibrant, festive atmosphere. This year? None of that.

There was barely any food. No seafood at all—just one sad mahi mahi dish that ended up making both me and my grandmother sick. The food options were extremely limited, maybe three actual dishes to choose from, and the eggs were cold and borderline inedible. I paid $95 for what, exactly?

To make matters worse, they charged an additional $25 for bottomless mimosas and drinks. For a $95 brunch, drinks should absolutely be included—brunch is literally known for that. It honestly felt like a scam.

The only saving grace was the staff. They were kind, attentive, and clearly aware of how far below expectations this year’s event fell compared to last year. They tried their best to make things right, and I appreciate that, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to justify the cost or the overall experience.

This was not the Mother’s Day I was hoping for. I won’t be returning next year, and I can’t recommend this brunch to anyone based on what I experienced. Extremely disappointed.

The server was not attentive and very dismissive when we asked questions. For instance, we asked for a lunch menu because there was nothing we liked on the brunch menu. He simply said that the lunch menu was not available on weekends. We told him that was not clear on the website and he said again it’s not available on the weekend. We ordered the small shareable seafood platter that stated that you get shrimp, oysters, ceviche and a lobster tail. There was no lobster tail. He said that it only comes with the larger order. That was not stated on the menu. There was also a $4.00 charge for pouring the tequila over the ice for a maguerita on the rocks costing now $24, which is ridiculous. Never heard of such nonsense. An additional meal was added to our bill and we questioned it and had it removed. The scenery and atmosphere was great but was not worth the 1 1/2 hour drive from Miami. It was not a good experience and i felt cheated. The bill was $501 and I felt we got sandwiches and a drink for that amount. I do not recommend eating there.

Horrible experience I came to key largo to try this restaurant and resort as well. When I arrived I called to make a reservation because the online open table didn’t work. I called and spoke to a lady she told me to come 6:30-7pm as a walk in but that she would still do a reservation however she didn’t at all. When I arrived with my family of 7 no one helped. The host were 16 year old teens that didn’t even know what was available and told me I had to wait 2 hours

5/6/25. Had an amazing view with good service. Drinks and apps were amazing . Server Rachel was great ! Main dishes were so terrible I didn’t even take a picture. Mahi was bone dry and the lobster Mac needed some seasoning and more cheese . Recommend stopping by for a drink and snack , but don’t waste your money on the entrees .
