This is one of my husband’s favorite spots in Key West, so it’s a must stop every time we’re there. He loves the history, the music and all of the stories.
We were just there to celebrate our Birthdays and our Anniversary and my husband wanted to put a dollar on the wall to commemorate. The bartender, where my husband was having a drink, says to get a marker from the gift shop where you buy the shirts. I saw someone grab a marker from a jar and I did the same thing, not...
We had a couple of drinks and met the local crowd. My wife didn't like you could smoke inside. Didn't bother me. I threw a quarter in the grouper on the second try. Drinks where good and service were great. Of the Key West bars we visited, this was 2nd on my favorite list.
Bosts of being the Original Sloppy Joe location, but they're not really out to do flips or pass out party favors just to get your business. It's a saloon. They just want you to enjoy a sud with a bud. I actually celebrated with a buddy of mine as he just retired from the Air Force. We were there during the daytime and listened to a solo guitar player / singer who kept the crowd smiling with jokes and music. He learned what a dog food song was when he didn't know...
