Beware the drinks. Went for Happy Hour/Roll the Dice 3-6 M-F Got the Murricane (there was supposed to be bourbon in the drink however no bourbon in the drink, just the taste of the tart watermelon), my partner just got a dark rum & diet (funny taste like the can had no carbonation, tasted very strange). Both drinks were just bad. $14/each. Bartender was nice enough. Atmosphere inside is cool.

Save your time, go to Rick’s Tree Bar around the corner. Half the price, better drinks and Terry is the best bartender in Key West. Try her freshly made Orange Crush and taste what a real drink is supposed to be.

The General Horseplay has hands-down the best drinks in Key West. They aren’t the cheapest—but they are absolutely worth it. The cocktails are expertly made, the service was great, and the space has a cool, dark, moody vibe with really unique decor. Espresso martinis were my favorite. If you care about quality cocktails and atmosphere, this place is a must.

Don’t miss the happy hour roll-the-dice-for -your-drink-price special. Cozy, eclectic, welcoming space. The spiced nuts and vermouth-soaked olives were delicious.
