Very creative selection of drinks and all 3 we tried were very tasty. Our bartender was great and she took her time understanding and suggesting what we'd like. They also had a singer outdoors and the live music vibe made it a perfect experience!

Missy the bar tender is without a doubt one of the best bar tenders in Key West. Go in and ask for a Woodford Old Fashioned. She smoked my glass and it was the best I have ever had nation wide. Don't pass up the chance to have premium cocktails prepared by Missy. Tell her Tommy sent you for a special old Fashioned.

I didn’t have much faith because I thought it wasn’t much my vibe… oh how wrong was I! Drinks here probably the best I have tried in Key West. Tanya was my bartender and not only she made delicious drinks, she was very nice and fast! Hiiiiiiiighly recommend this place!

We’ve been to Key West many times — myself since I was a child coming with my parents and their friends — but I’d never really explored “fan favorite” recommendations until our most recent trip. I did some online research and also spoke to local business owners about their go-to spots, and one name that came up multiple times was General Horseplay.
Upon arriving, we were carded outside and immediately welcomed in by a bartender ready to make our drinks. The interior was unlike anywhere else we’ve been in Key West — eclectic, dimly lit, and full of unique artwork and light fixtures. Red satin drapes gave it an upscale cigar lounge feel, almost reminiscent of Berlin with its bold color palette and ambience.
Our bartender — whose name I unfortunately forget — looked like Cher in her younger years and made my martini perfectly and my husband’s margarita just as well. We had a high-top table all to ourselves and enjoyed the atmosphere so much we returned a few nights later before leaving town.
General Horseplay is now officially one of our favorite stops in Key West, and it will absolutely be the first place we revisit next trip. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a unique, memorable experience in the heart of the island!

Had a blast! You exceeded all of my expectations with your tequila selection last night. From your single barrel Fortaleza “Horse Play” to the G4 6 barrel and the other extensive selection. Killer atmosphere def sets you apart from everywhere else. The DJ out back was sick and we will be back.Keep up the good work!
