I come here every time I'm in Key West. I've tried other places and they just don't measure up to this place. It's served frozen and it's just the perfect thing on a hot day. Love it so much. Check em out.
This is an awesome, little gift shop in Key West. They have a very large selection of items you can take home for souvenirs. There are lots of things to check out here. You will find painted coconuts, cups, cookies, pictures, magnets, Christmas ornaments, keychains, sodas, snacks, and Tortuga rum cakes. Even if you don't end up buying anything, it is still a cool shop to check out.
Two families with five kids and this place was a hit all around! Everyone loved the chocolate-dipped slices on a stick, mini pie and more. Mega plus for us, a food allergy family, the facility (at the time Oct. 2023) is nut-free so the fact that one of our kids could enjoy a safe dessert out like everyone else meant the world! We will be back when in KW!
Having been there several years ago for the gluten free key lime pie—which was delicious, I was looking forward to going again. Especially after having read a review for the excellence of the gf crust. It was disappointing today that the “gluten free key lime pie” was simply a cup with filling and some whipped cream. Though the flavor was good, it’s not what I would determine to be a key lime pie experience.
Best Key Lime pie here…! Paired w key Lime ice cream for the win!
Best key lime pie ever.
Like many people, my wife and I were trying several key lime pies in the keys. We walked in here on a Thursday evening and there was nobody around. We had a choice of a piece of key lime pie which is frozen or a mini pie which was not. Why is the slices of pie frozen? Why make me buy a mini pie to get unfrozen? The crust was ok. The consistency was more creamy than most. Whipped cream was on top. The key lime flavor was good but not great. This pie was in the lower half of all our pies. Mattheeson’s is number 1 for us.
I sought this place out because I had seen it on The Profit. The staff were funny and engaging and the desserts were phenomenal! I loved that they had mini pies, so it was just enough for a treat in the middle of the day.

Why am I being served a frozen key lime piece of pie and trying to eat it with a plastic fork? Worst key lime pie I had in the keys, by far.
We were excited to come here, but the place was pretty empty, with one very low-energy employee who seemed annoyed we were there. One of the slices we were served was totally frozen.
Arrived eager to buy pie. Only one other couple there and 5 employees at work. Waited for 6 minutes to get someone to acknowledge we were there and take our order before leaving. Tried everything after waiting a few minutes. Waved broadly as they passed by. Called out loudly asking for someone to help us. Called out asking if they were perhaps closed. Finally left after no response. My reviews are nearly always positive. This is the worst service I’ve ever experienced.
Nicest staff on Key West. Everything was reasonably priced. It was an incredibly enjoyable experience just shopping there. A must stop for every tourista in Key West.
I've had three slices of KLP while down here in the Key West. Some of those slices were from the "best places for key lime pie" this one has been the best thus far.
