On a Wednesday night when options seemed limited, our impromptu visit to Caney Restaurant & Lounge turned out to be a stroke of luck. I signed up for a speed dating event that had no indication of being women-only on the site. When I got here, they refused to let me join or give a refund. This venue should not have let such fools run an event here. If you sell a service you cannot provide, you should offer an alternative or a refund whether it's speed dating or a car wash. There was absolutely nothing on the site, other than the "#ladies" at the very bottom, that would indicate the tickets are for a women's only event. Regardless of intent, the rebirth group essentially scammed me out of $30.66. I still want a refund. If not a voucher for straight speed dating or a $30 drink voucher or literally anything, I've yet to even receive an apology.

Food service was not good they brought our tables food in order instead of all together. Dj sucked! All he played was annoying salsa all night and when my friend requested a song he said NO! Place was also empty, makes sense to why. Would not recommend and will not be coming back.

Food was terribly overcooked and super dry. Sabía a aceite viejo. Had to wait well over an hour for our food to be brought out to us and some in our table never got theirs. The waitresses did what they could as best they could but this one lady must’ve been either the manager or an owner, she was very rude. When all the mistakes were brought up to her about the receipts and why were she charging for things that were wrong or never served she told us that it was what it was and if we wanted food to be served quickly to go to McDonalds! We waited well over an hour and the order was wrong!!! Debut y despedida, never again.

Today is 8/24/23 and I ordered the red snapper with monfongo. The fish was clearly cooked awhile ago. Almost like it was fried a day or so ago. It was dry, no seasonings hence being bland, and the fried skin was not edible. The monfogo was ok, I certainly had better. I killed two ants ? on the table. The passion fruit juice was good and its cold so you dont need any ice. The waiters were very attentive and the atmosphere was nice. Its like a club/resturant. The club portion, which is in the front of the establishment, and the resturant is in the back. The wait was like 15 min which confirms the food was cooked prior. Chicken with garlic sauce was salty, the rice and beans was excellent and the portion size was good. Inflation increase the price, so the red snapper and monfogo was $25 plus tax, and the chicken and rice & bean approximately $20 plus tax. In NY it was cheaper, more food, and cooked per ordered...ok take care and enjoy ?
