“Talk about YUM. The name says it all. I will be back here many times. They have Chinese food that I have not seen in years. The food was so hot, it burnt my mouth. You only get that with made fresh food. The flavor was as it sould be in Chinese food. All over the place, but complementing each taste individually. The pint of Won Ton Soup had NINE large won tons in it and the broth was perfect. Just enough grease to help everything go down easy.I also had the Hot and Spicy Beef and Vegetables. It was perfect. Comes with rice and an egg roll. The server was the owners daughter. She was sweet and has a great personality. The atmosphere is Chinese. Slight music in the background and Chinese decor. All in all this place is excellent and I highly recommend it.“

“Okay, I’ve eaten here a handful of times now and I can now recommend this restaurant. They also offer delivery which is rare these days.
I am super picky when it comes to Chinese-American food, but this place honestly reminds me of the small hole in the wall restaurants I used to find in Brooklyn. Also, it’s SO hard to find restaurants outside of NYC that make good tofu, and Hong Yip has nailed it every time.
I’ve tried the Mapo Tofu, the Sesame Tofu, and the General Tso’s Tofu and they were all amazing. I keep going back for the General’s Tofu with the vegetable fried rice on the side.
I also enjoy the Crab Rangoon, the Shrimp Rolls, and the Spring Rolls.
I usually call in my order and it’s ready when I arrive. They have been super consistent. Friendly folks that work here, too. I would recommend Hong Yip if you’re in Lake City and you’re looking for good Chinese-American food. Support your local businesses!“

“Oh no! I was so full and happy from enjoying the food I forgot to add some details! Shout out to this place for being like the place my old neighbors used to run in Chiefland, the matriarch in the back, reaming out the paternal figure for some kitchen mishap.. with love, of course. I could taste the ginger in the sesame chicken, I could smell it in the wonton souep, I almost cried. EVERYTHING was cooked perfectly and was plentiful <3“
