“I'm not local to the area, but if I was, I'd be in trouble because this delicious spot would be a weekly stop! A year or two ago, I visited the mall after visiting the Florida Air Museum. My kids were hungry and I was not excited about buying overpriced, garbage mall food. When I saw Jamaica Delight my spirits picked up a bit and once I tried a few of their samples, I was all in! They have the most delicious brown stew chicken and they were so accommodating when I asked that they absolutely drench my rice in the broth. I was in heaven! My kids love their fried dumplings. They're huge and so delicious! If they haven't just finished cooking them, they will take them back for a quick reheat. I definitely recommend them warm! Just last weekend I stopped back in and I was so happy to see nothing had changed. The service was still amazing with everyone being so friendly and happy to share their amazing food. The brown stew chicken was just as good as the first time and the jerk chicken sample I tried was so yummy I was almost persuaded not to grab my old favorite, haha. Oh, and though only a small side, let me rave about their cabbage for a moment too! Oh, why does my homemade cabbage not even come close!? It's super tasty. The prices are really great, especially for the overall quality. I can only say wonderful things about Jamaica Delight! The only downfall for me, is it being 1.5 hours away. ?Kid-friendliness: Many of the sides can be ordered separately if you have any pickup eaters and I definitely recommend their yummy fried dumplings for a fun and filling snack for kiddos!“

“The outside strip mall restaurant with a big Jamaican Flag on it, you can't miss it. Walked in to nice ambient Jamaican music playing. The first thing to catch my eye was the writing on the wall, literally... It was a Jamaican proverb, it made me smile and made me interested in knowing the kind of person running the place. I walked up to the window, and a smiling elder woman of color greeted my friend and I. She was very polite and welcoming.. We ordered the curry chicken and curry goat both with rice and peas, one with Jamaican coleslaw and the other with cooked cabbage. Reasonably priced, portion was good enough to get full from. The flavor was delicious, it made my face happy. My friend enjoyed hers as well. There were a few wooden table and chairs there so we decided to eat there. The lady brought our food out to the table. We Grabbed a couple of the Jamaican sodas and had a great lunch. We then ordered 2 patties, not because we were still hungry, just because we wanted to try them... WARNING, If you don't like real spicy food, don't get the pattie. It felt like it melted my taste buds. Glad I ate the curry first or I wouldn't have been able to taste it. As we were getting up to leave, the lady thanked us and wished a quick return. That's when I found out that the lady was Gloria. Ms Gloria is the G in the B&G. Her and her husband run the place. I was truly blessed to have come across this place just because I wanted something different to eat. I could tell that Ms Gloria loves what she is doing. We asked her if she catered in Lake Wales since this place was located in Bartow, she said yes but she prefers to see her customers faces.. I love that. That just tells me she enjoys feeding people.
