After reading some of the negative comments, I decided to see for myself. After 3 visits, I can confidently say that the breakfasts were all excellent. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable. Nicely decorated with a beach theme and spotlessly clean. Large portions, so come hungry. Eggs cooked perfectly, ripe fruit, delicious waffles.

Here with my wife on vacation, we were looking for a great place to have breakfast. The blue dolphin was disappointing.
My wife had the blue dolphin special. I had an omelette. Coffee was not great.! Overall, just disappointing.

We were seeking a local restaurant for breakfast while staying at Zota Beach Resort. The Blue Dolphin is just a short drive in a small strip mall. They have a varied menu. Their Breakfast Special of 2 Eggs with choice of bread and sides were very good. The eggs were done perfectly, potatoes were tasty and sausage paddy was good. Very nice casual eater.

If you are looking for a quality American diner, this is your spot. The pros are many. Plenty of parking in the lot; very friendly + attentive staff (coffee cups were always full); fresh ingredients, wonderfully cooked; large portions; and several types of hot sauce on the table.

Price for quantity + quality is well-matched. We will be back.

Our order was wrong because they didn’t have the proper ingredients. No apologies no offer to replace. Wait staff was amazingly rude. Too bad, because this used to be a cute place to go to.

Modern diner excellent quality food and large portions. Omlette three jumbo eggs, pancakes plate-size interesting flavor vanilla? Very nice staff, though didn't get a receipt somehow. Not inexpensive but on par for location (Longboat Key).

I really love the breakfast special which is always available. Two pancakes, eggs how you like them,side of bacon and either home fries or fruit. Yum! We sit at the counter and chat with the servers and locals. ?
