Best BBQ sandwich I have ever had.

My boyfriend and I eat here all the time, it never gets old. I get the same thing every single time (the chicken avocado sandwich, first one on the menu) and he gets the chicken salad sandwich. The turkey chili and mac salad are also phenomenal. Staff has always been friendly to us and never disappoints :) we love houndstooth! Bonus points for all the cute dogs outside

Finally stopped into Houndstooth a few days ago! We have been coming to this area for a while now, but just finally stopped to eat here. It's a small place with only 2 little tables on the inside, but lots of outdoor seating. Mainly for to go orders or to eat outside.

They specialize in sandwiches, but also offer tacos, soups, and salads. I opted for the Lemon. Thyme Turkey sandwich with a side of macaroni salad! I was in between than and the potato salad. The owner/manager was there and she let me try both! It was a tough choice. My friend got the tacos which looked amazing too. They do offer large portions of sides and soups to go in their cooler too. Price was $14 for the sandwich and just $1 to add the side.

Service was excellent and the food was prepared quickly. If you want a quick lunch stop, come here!

Stopped in today for a cold weather pick me up and had a heavenly turkey panini with cup of tomato soup. The husband and wife owners are dedicated to home cooking quality and are super appreciative of their loyal customers. I never leave without a pint of their chicken salad, soup and pickles. We have also ordered catering for holidays and parties - the food is simply delicious and has been since we first discovered them at East End Market many years ago.

Overpriced and mundane

Came here for lunch while on business. Opted for light fare food-wise and heard good things about this place. Situated across the street from Maitland park, the Houndstooth is an ideal place to sit outside at of their tables and enjoy some great food and weather. Had the tomato basil soup with a simple avocado toast. All their offerings are healthy and delicious. The folks that run it are very friendly and is a local favorite. Highly recommend!

They take their coffee seriously—whether you’re into a classic espresso or a more intricate pour-over, they have you covered. The baristas are skilled, and you can tell they put a lot of care into each cup. The vibe is great for a quick morning coffee or an afternoon pick-me-up, though it can get a bit busy during peak hours, which makes it less ideal for long work sessions. The addition of pastries and a few light bites rounds out the menu nicely. It’s definitely one of the better spots in town if you’re after a reliably good coffee experience, even if the space can feel a little cramped at times

Houndstooth Kitchen: Lived Up to the Hype!

We had a fantastic experience at Houndstooth Kitchen! We made an outdoor reservation, and while there was a bit of a snag with our table being taken before we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were seated quickly. The service was incredible - attentive, prompt, and all around friendly. The staff was gracious and really made our night.

But let's get to the most important part - the food! The dishes were absolutely delicious and fresh. You can definitely tell they use high-quality ingredients. We weren't surprised to see so many 5-star reviews online, and our experience lived up to all the hype. If you're looking for a great meal with outstanding service, Houndstooth Kitchen is the place to go! We will definitely be back.

My family and I sat down at one of their outdoor tables during the farmers market, I scanned the QR code and was browsing the virtual menu when someone came outside and asked us if we needed menus, I said no and pointed at my phone to insinuate I had the virtual menu already and he rudely responded with "these tables are for paying customers so please move." And so we did. We got up and moved and took our business with us. We will certainly not be returning and we will advise our friends to seek friendlier establishments to give their business to.
