haven't left a review on yelp in a while but this place was so bad I wanted to address it. First off we walked in and were seated, we waited about 20 minutes to be served and it wasn't that busy in the building. When we told our server that that we wanted to cook our own meat she immediately seemed annoyed at us and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. when she came back to plug in the grill she huffed and puffed about how she had to plug it in. We also didn't get any silverware until we asked. My partner ordered a plum wine that she never got. They brought us another paper for the grill at one point but made us change it ourselves with no utensils to change it... then in the middle of our experience our server simply disappeared without saying if we were getting another server or anything. Someone then came to ask about our check and she seemed annoyed when we asked to have it split. Every single employee at this establishment seemed so unhappy and miserable and made us feel like we were a problem for simply choosing their establishment to eat at.

THE BEST, Japanese and KOREAN AROUND. Their CHICKEN KATSU cannot be beat, and the only one that comes to a close second ive found is at SIAM ORCHID. AND also the BOGUGI, IS TO DIE FOR. friendly people, great atmosphere, and quick service usually as well.

This is probably the best Asian food in Melbourne. When you first walk in, it's pretty low budget looking. But the food in amazing and the portions are more than adequate. Everything I have tried here has a lot of flavor and never disappoints. The price is also very reasonable for what restaurants are charging nowadays.

Mangetsu in Old Town Melbourne is a true gem! We started with the Shrimp Tempura appetizer — perfectly crisp and delicious. I had the Yakisoba, which was flavorful and satisfying, while my wife loved the Green Curry — rich, aromatic, and full of depth. What really made the night special was Amanda, our server. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Between the amazing food and outstanding service, Mangetsu is easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Melbourne. We’ll definitely be back!
The staff is so friendly and even didnt mention they were closing/ urging us out while a girlfriend and I were deep in chit chat. The Panang curry alone keeps me coming back but everything else we've tried there has been amazing! Definitely worth giving a try. I promise you'll be back!

Oh we love this place. Everyting ordered are legit. They got lots of selections. Thai Korean sushi choice. I only can speak of Korean food I got. Will update as I try out other menu. Great portions size. This place kid meal are like the best in term of price vs what you got so far. Anyway can't wait to go back!

Absolutely amazing and highly recommend... never been here before (never heard of it) and originally planned to get Pho across the street. My husband happened to see a sign. I haven't had authentic Korean food since I was kid, so we decided to give it a try. It was roughly 530pm and the line was already out the door (great sign lol). We asked the wait time-frame for 2 people and they let us know immediately that there was seating at the sushi bar. Prompt service, extremely attentive staff this includes the chef who went to each and every table (no one walked passed us without asking if we needed refills on water, or side dishes). We ended up getting the Beef Bulgogi and Curry Noodles. As soon as we ordered the sushi chef (itamae) gave us a complimentary dish, which was a combination of fresh albacore tuna, fancy cucumber slices, sesame oil and gochugaru... MIND BLOWN from first bite and it set the bar high instantly. Side dishes and salad were served immediately and food was brought out within 10mins. Let me tell you, as a Korean American; everything was delicious and could not recommend this place more! Their menu is vast from Korean to sushi to Japanese cuisine. The line of people never stopped and the staff was absolutely incredible. Will absolutely return as this is our new go to spot!!
