El Carnival Churrascaria

Food tastes like pre-prepared. Only the fries tastes like freshly cooked, the rest including the steak is a bit cold and tastes like the kind of food you eat on a plane.. the real food looks nothing like the menu pics.. oysters are also not as cold and fresh, the sauce is like ketchup.. given PRICE, this is not the kind of food I expected. Probably priced in the tourism..

Disappointing experience as ordered 4 drinks and asked for the bill. When I asked to pay by card, the waitress didn’t show me the bill, but I asked if it included a tip. The waitress said no and the card machine showed some options for tips. However, I asked to see the bill as the amount seemed to reflect that a tip had been added and, sure enough, an 18% gratuity was already being charged. It’s just so wrong and that sort of sharp practice should be stamped out. Apart from that, it’s a nice place!

Ended up stumbling across this spot while exploring the area. The surrounding restaurants were already closed, and the woman at the front was welcoming and inviting, so we decided to give it a try.

After being seated, our server asked if we wanted regular or sparkling water (water is not complimentary) and took our food and drink orders shortly after.

About 30 minutes later, I finally received my cocktail. It appeared to have been sitting for a while, as much of the ice had already melted, though it was still very good. At that point, I had high hopes for the food.

Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. After nearly 50 minutes with no updates and no sign of our server, someone in my party had to get up and find her at the host stand to ask about our order. We were told it was on the way, and it conveniently arrived moments later. The plates were hot, but the food itself was only lukewarm.

The presentation was beautiful, but the paella lacked seasoning and flavor, which made the long wait even more disappointing.

Throughout the meal, service felt inattentive. At one point, our server and another staff member stood directly next to our table to light a sparkler dessert for another party. By then, it was probably obvious that I was frustrated, and we were later brought small shots of lemon liqueur as an apology.

Our server only checked on us once near the end of the meal, and it was never disclosed that gratuity had already been included in the bill, so I unintentionally tipped extra on top of the automatic gratuity.

Overall, the atmosphere was inviting and the presentation was nice, but the slow service, lack of communication, and underwhelming food made for a disappointing experience.

What an incredible experience at El Carnival!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the location on Lincoln Road was perfect. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a wonderful meal and atmosphere. The Brazilian-inspired menu and warm hospitality made for a truly memorable evening.

What really sets this restaurant apart, though, is the owner/chef and the level of care he shows his guests. I accidentally left a sweater on my chair that is extremely sentimental to me. It was with me through pregnancy and those precious newborn moments with each of my baby girls. When I realized it was missing, I was devastated.

Not only did he save it for me, but he went out of his way to carefully package and mail it back. That kind of kindness and customer service is incredibly rare. He made sure something irreplaceable found its way home, and I will never forget it.

Amazing food, excellent service, and genuinely wonderful people. I can't recommend El Carnival highly enough. Thank you for going above and beyond!

Very expensive for the food quality, which is more fast food than restaurant.

We ordered the steak and the fried snapper. The steak was not hot. It’s strange but most of the food they brought out didn’t seem hot besides the fried fish. I also ordered the gambas, that was good and seemed very fresh. The staff however is very nice and attentive. But overall the food is subpar at best.

Food was ok but when I got the bill they were charging a 20% service fee, so I asked to talk to the manager and told him that I don’t pay his employees salary that it was his responsibility. I only pay for the food I ate and the tip for the waitress not the rest of his staff, that’s why I gave them a 1 Star,If I see that again at another Restaurant in Miami or elsewhere they will get the same review, Homie don’t play that game.
