Tequiztlan Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar

We made a early afternoon reservation. Few diners outside. Service was very slow to poor at best. Had to ask for water several times. We had Spicy Rooster's our favorite. We had to wait and finally ask to get round two of our drinks. We were taken aback at how poor the service was since the restaurant was not busy at all.

I had a ceviche... that was served with 3 crackers. What am I suppose to do with 3 crackers? Next time try adding tostadas. Very disappointed as a Mexican.

I thought the food was great. I had the chile relleno with the ground beef it came with. I’ve never had one with meat before and also never had one saturated with a sauce so that was a bit different but still good. My husband had fajitas that were good. No complaints and would recommend to anyone who is looking for good Mexican food…except when I got to the hotel and got ready to eat my leftovers, I realized that the waitress did not pack up the rice I’d hardly eaten. They also tried to take our tortilla shells and even went so far as to start putting napkins on top of them until we told them we were taking them. So what did they do? Give us the same tortillas that they had started turning into trash instead of fresh ones.

So my advice would be, if you want to take leftovers, have them box it in front of you or ask to do it yourself.

What a fabulous lunch we just had here today!! The black beans Cuban style that came with the churrasco were out of this world. The fajitas were delish and of course the best for last their Guacamole was better than being in Mexico. Want to give a shot out to the Brazilian guy that helped us today, keep up the amazing work

Came at 7:45pm. Door was unlocked, walked in, staff was chilling behind the bar. Told us they were closed. Really bizarre. Just find it frustrating when places aren’t “open” during advertised hours. It’s not like it was 11pm.
