Disappointing Experience at Lobster Shack*
As a local, I always try to support businesses in the area. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Lobster Shack was a disaster. The manager, Britney, was extremely rude and unprofessional.
We ordered a 2.5-pound lobster and a pound of stone crabs, which were not fresh. The lobster was overcooked, and the stone crabs were a letdown. To make matters worse, we were overcharged for the wine. Instead of charging us for two glasses of Pinot Grigio, they charged us for two bottles!
When I brought this to Britney's attention, she became defensive and hostile. I was shocked by her behavior. The check was a staggering $289, and to add insult to injury, Britney refused to remove the mandatory tip.
As a US citizen, I'm aware of my rights as a consumer, and I will not be returning to this establishment. I urge others to be cautious when dining here, as it seems they may be taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists.

The food would have been below mid grade even if there wasn’t a chunk of shell in every bite of my lobster roll. Bland besides that. Service was terrible and they add an 18% gratuity to every order. The bisque tasted like it was made with old butter and water broth. I know there wasn’t any lobster in it because I didn’t crunch down on any shells. This place sucks, they should take it out next Tuesday with the rest of the trash.

Maybe was a off day for you guys but, I had come in from DC and you were recommended. I gotta say your lobster was blahhhh! No flavor what so ever. But kudos for the baked oysters (8.5/10) and lobster Mac and cheese(8.5/10). Thanks and sorry!

Encouraged by opinions from the Internet, I decided to try it. Unfortunately, a big disappointment. Microscopic sandwiches. The shrimp roll has a lot of shrimp but they weren't exceptional. The crab sandwich is much better, but unfortunately not at this price.

wow, you added a.service charge ( and server never mentioned it )last 3 times I ate at the shack it cost 18% less, I always tipped a little at cashier.

plastic cups , beverages served in the bottle, that's not full service. today's check was 30$ more than my last visit for the same experience

good to screw the tourist but I'm a local,.sorry for the bad review as I really like your food. I wonder how much of the " service " charge the house keeps for themselves ( and yes that's legal in miami ).

The lobster roll was just okay. The portion was smaller than I expected, especially compared to what we get in Toronto—where the rolls are generally bigger, have more filling, and cost less. But I guess that’s Miami Beach pricing. They also automatically add a 10% service charge, even for takeout, which would be nice if they mentioned upfront. I’ve noticed this is common in Miami Beach, with service charges applied everywhere—usually 20% for dine-in. For $45 CAD, we could’ve gotten two larger and better lobster rolls back home.

I love lobster, and drove 30 min. to try this place out. Kind of disappointed. The lobster on the lobster roll was overcooked, rubbery and chewy. The lobster bisque was good but not outstanding, with 2 small chunks of lobster. We were charged $50 for a bottle of wine we didn't order (which of course was removed.) Common to the area, a service charge of 18% was added to the bill, but you're not told this; the only way it was discovered was by adding the subtotal to the tax and realizing that there was a hidden charge in there that was not disclosed. There was also the "suggested tips" on the receipt which would seem to indicate a tip was expected to be added over and above the 18% service charge. (online opinions were that nothing more needed to be added to this.) Just wish they were more transparent about it.

Parking: We got lucky and found a spot a block away. (paid street parking). There was not an abundance of parking at dinnertime on a Monday night, but empty spots were here and there.

Food was good but really expensive. A l)naked roster roll with a side salad and a beer was $60! That was a lot more than I expected for a shack!

The food is delicious but definitely is a bit overpriced. I understand it is located in Brickell City Center, probably in an other location it would be more accessible and affordable for owners and customers.

The Lobster Shack on South Pointe Drive off of Ocean Drive in Miami Beach is in a great location. Food is good. Music and service was great. I got the baked oysters, clam chowder and the Poseidon Roll. Kinda pricey but wanted to try a lobster roll with crab and shrimp. But I supposed it's pricey as this is a very touristy area.

I just entered this place and an Argentine girl along with another person with the same accent has treated me with great contempt and humiliation for looking at the menu and thinking about what to decide, with their bad treatment and mockery, I just approached them. see their service and they started with ridicule and bad treatment... I think this place should be run by a person who has a much more humane treatment

I ordered spicy lobster roll. The service was quick but the lobster roll in itself was very small for the price of $35 (food+tax+service charge+tip). Totally not worth it!!
