“Our server, Ana, was fabulous! Hands down best server ever! She asked right away if we had any food allergy restrictions and was careful to be sure our celiac friend was well cared for. “Everything is good there. I would rate it 9 out of 10 only because nothing is perfect. But speaking on my personal experience, every time I’ve visited… everything was on point ?. From my food to the customer service. I’ve dined in & did take out. My food was always hot, fresh to order & delicious. My favs are the shrimp & grits, Oreo waffle & oxtail sandwich. Oh, and I really like the raspberry iced tea. I started coming in January & don’t think I’ve missed a month yet ?“

“Went to LauderAle Brewery this afternoon to p/u a BBQ dinner take-out. Chose ribs and I must say in all my many years of BBQ consumption these ribs were some of the best I’ve ever had! Absolutely fabulous!! Fall off the bone yet meat was firm and flavorful! Definitely a 10!“

“The first time eating from this restaurant and the food was all right my daughter says the burger was good she was feeling with the burger and the french fries were a little salty she says but she's so used to having McDonald's french fries but I find the food was good I had a Philly steak with french fries add my daughter had a burger with cheese and French fries and everything was under $20 we had to lunch special so that was really good“

“My daughter and I went for lunch. The restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered a burger and fries for me and Alfredo pasta for my daughter. I ate half of the burger and fries because it was very good and filing. My daughter really enjoyed the pasta as well. I liked that when we asked to change a drink to another drink that my daughter liked, we were able to get it without a fuss. We truly enjoyed this“

“My friend and I was passing through the area and googled soul food near me. FABULOUS soul food had the best rating 😋. So we stopped. The food was delicious. Nika was our waitress and Sherry was the cook. I give the restaurant 10 out of 10. We will be back.“

“Disclaimer: I am not the audience for ordering food and picking it up from a box without interacting with human beings. I'm not there yet. So although I'd heard of Soulfly, I wasn't particularly interested in visiting. Nevertheless, was celebrating my mom's birthday and the birthday girl wanted to come here after our wine tasting next door.
I'm glad the experience was not as impersonal as I anticipated. Partly because I just didn't feel like sticking to the script but also I couldn't get that doggone pickup situation together. LOL I had so many issues with the code to retrieve my order, it was seriously comical. I did observe others come in, put in the code, get the food and go though.
You do have to order on the kiosk but I was able to ask the manager if I could order it like this or that, which he happily made note of for my particular order. There was a little wait for having ordered onsite - things would have felt quicker had I ordered online from offsite then stopped in to pickup when notified the order was ready. I had the wings and cajun rice. Now what surprised me was that chicken! Ok, Soulfly! Very nicely seasoned, good crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. I was impressed considering my expectations. It reminded me of those good chinese takeout chicken wings. Nice surprise. The cajun rice was just okay for me.
The challenges to me coming back are that the price is just high for what you get. I understand there is a cost for "convenience" so it is what it is. However adding $6.54 to the order when I had to do the work to place it then pick it up is.... I don't and won't mind continuing to do things the old school way to pay a more reasonable price for fried chicken in other nearby neighborhoods. Also, no "convenient" parking. I feel like this spot is more geared towards people strolling on the street or for food delivery drivers who will be on a moped only.
Overall for the chicken and helpfulness of the onsite staff, I give it a 3.5, not just a 3.“

“Just chose to stop in fresh off a Carnival cruise. We decided to ignore the reviews and give it a try. I don’t know why people are so critical, food was hot, fresh and just what we were looking for. As far as timeliness, we don’t do fast food! If it isn’t prepared with love I don’t want it, and that requires time.“

“Every time that I go, it’s what I expect. That is some good food for a good price. No one ever said this was the place of spectacular southern hospitality, just that they provide food. I mind my business, get what I need, fill my belly, and have a good day. I have never been met with a nasty attitude because I don’t go there looking for people to be overly cheerful and friendly. I respect them, they respect me, I get my food, and I’m out. Imma keep going there for breakfast because I like it and because they’re black.“
