Stopped in for oysters and was assisted by Ray. He was very knowledgeable , attentive and kind. The oysters were delicious! They go for about $4 each which is a bit on the pricier side, but worth it if Ray's there. I'll definitely be back for more oysters and seafood.
This is a great local fish market, always fresh and staff is super friendly and helpful.I recently was making linguine in white clam sauce and stopped in at a cross-town fish market to get some fresh clams. The clam's were in a mesh bag and I could see a several of them were open (i.e., bad/dead clam!). I have been going to Captains Tavern market for years and they have top quality fish and shellfish. The local fish and Stone crabs are the freshest! Their staff are amazing! Filleting the fish to your liking and chucking/selecting the oysters.
