Drakes is a cozy bar located in the JW Marriott hotel in the Bricknell area of Miami. The bar features an L-shaped room with classy, mahogany furniture, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. Although there was just one bartender on duty, serving drinks and peanuts to guests, the service was attentive and pleasant.

The bar offers a variety of seating options, including chairs, couches, and the bar itself. The music played by the DJ did not quite match the decor and atmosphere of the bar.

The Passion and Spice cocktail was a standout, with guests praising its delicious taste and the obvious care and attention put into its creation.

While the hotel itself is in need of a refresh, with rooms showing wear and in need of an update, the sleep quality is good with guests reporting that they did not hear noise between rooms and only occasionally heard street noise. The beds and pillows, however, are in need of replacement, as they are described as old and uncomfortable.

The bathrooms are also in need of an update, with guests reporting that the towels are thin and musty-smelling. The gym and conference rooms are adequate, but some amenities, such as the sauna and treadmills, were under renovation or out of order during the guests' stay.

Despite these issues, the location of the hotel and bar is convenient, with nearby shopping, restaurants, a CVS, and two Publix grocery stores within walking distance. The beach is also not far away. The hotel's check-in process could use improvement, with guests reporting frustration with the lack of communication and estimate regarding their room's readiness.
