An excellent lunch this week at Torno Subito. A lovely rooftop location in the city center (on top of Julia & Henry's) makes for a lovely setting. The food is excellent quality with four courses, perfectly judged in size and flavour: an amuse bouche packed full of flavour, delicious "modern" salad, tagliatelle carbonara a selection of sorbets to finish. The servers were also informative and attentive without being intrusive. Hghly recommend a visit.

Lovely place with unique flavors! Inside interior reminds of a fancy diner, and they also have an outdoor rooftop! We ordered a pizza, risotto, and pasta, and everything was really great! We shared everything, and they split the risotto and pasta for us and served in separat we plates. Pizza had parmesan foam, haven't tried that before. Even amuse bush with fresh bread was super delicious.
Their business lunch is really great, too, great starters to share, and 3 pastas to choose from as a main. Great option in downtown Miami!

Another pretentious place in Miami.
It is nice and colorful, nice atmosphere, with very good attention, although somewhat invasive.
They are reversed Italian dishes, with which an Italian would fall on his back when seeing such small portions.
A salad of two lettuce leaves, $29. A very delicious pizza and an excellent tiramisu, but very expensive!!!
I don't think I will return.

I just had the best time at Torno Subito in Miami! The atmosphere is super chill and vibrant. You can't beat the fresh pasta—it’s like a little slice of Italy! The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home. Can't wait to go back! 🍝✨

Very very salty pasta. We mentioned that, they were nice and sent us another pasta dish which was ALSO very salty.

Not sure how the owner/investors look at the location and imagined that was a nice spot to invest.

Street with no car access, no valet, no parking. Perched on the 6th floor. Guess it was a nice idea, I am somewhat critical of the execution.

Two visits in one week, and they both were incredibly disappointing. The food was one miss after another. For the price point and reputation, expectations were high for the food. The cacio pepe was a cacio SALT, all you could taste was the extreme saltiness. On the second visit the carbonara was served cold and had no flavor. Dont get me started on as my friend said, the “$39 pizza”. An epic fail, its a focaccia bread w prosciutto, thats it, very underwhelming.
The atmosphere is very nice, but the food is just not good at all.

Review of Torno Subito Miami

Our recent dining experience at Torno Subito Miami was memorable for its culinary excellence, though the service left much to be desired. Being a restaurant under Massimo Bottura's name, we arrived with high expectations for both food and service, and while the kitchen certainly delivered, the front-of-house experience fell short.

The Highlights: Exceptional Food

The food at Torno Subito was undoubtedly the star of the evening. Our meal began with a delightful amuse-bouche and complimentary focaccia served with an exquisite olive oil—small touches that set a positive tone.

We then enjoyed the marinara pizza, a flavorful combination of creamy burrata and anchovies, and the modern salad with a surprising variety of 14 dressings, both delicious and unique.

For our mains, we ordered:

Agnello: Roasted lamb saddle paired with four unique sauces,

Sea Bass Porketta: Mediterranean sea bass stuffed with pork bacon and served with a lemon emulsion, and

Riviera: Spaghettoni with clams, garlic, chili, lime, parsley oil, and botarga.

Every dish was impressive, but if I had to choose a standout, the Sea Bass Porketta stole the show.

The combination of pork bacon with the delicate sea bass was superb and brought out a depth of flavor that was truly memorable.

Overall, every dish reflected a high level of creativity and execution, making the food the highlight of our experience.

Room for Improvement: The Service

Unfortunately, the service at Torno Subito did not rise to the same standard as the food. Upon seating, it took several minutes and a request on our part to receive water, and there was a similar wait before the server came to take our order. This delay set the tone for what became a consistently unrefined service experience.

Throughout the meal, there were multiple times when dirty plates sat on our table for several minutes without being cleared, which disrupted the flow of the evening. Cutlery placement felt inconsistent, with servers not adhering to the same standards across courses. Water refills were another challenge, as we frequently had to ask for refills, with long waits before the water was replenished.

These lapses pointed to a lack of attentiveness, communication, and coordination among the staff. The absence of an attentive manager overseeing operations was noticeable, as there was no proactive approach to table maintenance or communication between staff members. Service lacked the polish, proactivity, and seamless coordination expected in a fine dining environment, which detracted from the overall experience.

Service Rating: 2 out of 5

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, Torno Subito Miami delivers outstanding cuisine that celebrates traditional Italian flavors with creative, Miami-inspired twists.

However, the service needs substantial improvement to match the quality of the food and live up to the restaurant's fine dining aspirations.

With refinements in training and attentiveness, Torno Subito has the potential to be one of Miami’s premier dining experiences.

An Unforgettable Dining Experience – 5 Stars!

My wife and I had the incredible privilege of dining at Torno Subito in Miami, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed into an intimate, elegant atmosphere that set the tone for the entire evening. The restaurant's ambiance strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and warmth, making it an ideal setting for a memorable meal.

The service was nothing short of exceptional. Every staff member was incredibly attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about providing a flawless experience. It was evident that every detail was carefully considered, from the pacing of each course to the personalized attention we received throughout the evening.

As for the food – where do I even begin? Every single dish was outstanding. There wasn’t a single course that wasn’t memorable. The flavors, textures, and presentations were out of this world. It's clear that Massimo Bottura and his team are masters of their craft. Each bite felt like a celebration of Italy’s rich culinary tradition, with a contemporary twist that made each dish feel innovative and exciting.

One of the highlights of the evening was having the opportunity to meet Massimo Bottura himself. We had the pleasure of interacting with him several times during the night, and his warmth, charm, and dedication to his craft made the experience even more special. It’s not every day that you get to enjoy such an intimate connection with a world-renowned chef.

Overall, the night was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for a 10/10 dining experience, I can’t recommend Torno Subito enough. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply want to indulge in exceptional food, this is the place to go. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Recently had dinner at Torno Subito, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, we were taken by the fun, colorful vibe of the place. Victor, our server, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our lunch.

The food? Absolutely delicious. We kicked things off with a few starters that were as pretty as they were tasty, and then moved on to carbonara. The drinks were just as impressive! The passion fruit spritz felt carefully crafted, both in taste and presentation.

I will definitely be going back.

Torno Subito (“Be right back”) - Miami

The colors are vibrant, very “Miami” but the space was familiar. Like I was “right back” in Casa Maria Luigia… but I only had to fly 3 hours instead of a transatlantic flight and car ride into Modena. We showed up for our reservation just after noon, and were immediately seated, the only diners in the restaurant… do people in Miami eat later than New Yorkers?? To be fair noon is early for us too.

Torno Subito Miami opened in August of this year and is run by Chef Bernardo Paladini, who has worked with the Francescana family for a decade. You can tell he’s put in the work with the incredible flavors of his dishes, reminiscent of our experience in Italy. Cocktails were constructed in partnership with Dante NYC and were pretty different and solid (of note, a lot of Dante influence in Miami).

We ordered a la carte, starting with the Modern Salad. Sooo… Good! It might look like a dull batch of lettuce accented by some parmesan crisps, but there are colorful dots bursting with flavor that reminded me of the psychedelic plate of veal (see CML post #2). We ordered three pastas (obviously!) and have to admit our favorite wasn’t the renowned tortellini, which I often still dream about. We actually preferred the freshness of the Riviera, with its perfectly chewy clams and al dente spaghetti pasta. We ended with the delectable key lime pie, which as you might guess pays homage to the famous lemon tart dessert.

(Yes I am biased, but…) Bottura never disappoints! It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Honestly, thought I’d be “right back”… I guess I just needed the right motivation!
