My family and I just recently moved to Mount Dora and we’ve been trying a few different food spots. Today I tried Dukes, and I must say from the awesome customer service and convo with the cashier to the actual food. One word! AMAZING!!!

As a New Yorker, I was excited to break out of Covid lockdown and try the Mount Dora hot dog place. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. I've been twice and here is a summary of my experiences. The staff is very nice. They seem to take a very long time to serve up a hot dog. I like mine well done and they tried to accommodate this but I think the grill isn't hot enough so the dog never got crispy on the outside and it took forever. I didn't mind the wait, per se, but the fryer ventilation isn't all that effective so while I waited 10 minutes (not exaggerating) for a hot dog, I got totally saturated with fry. When I got home I had the take off my clothes and throw them in the wash. I may be overly sensitive to this kind of smell so I suggest waiting outside if it seems that the order will take a while.

Let me first state that the workers were more than accommodating to me...after fireworks ? just about to close and allowed me to sit and eat real quick. I love the homemade cut fries and the dog was great also. Always great workers any time of day and never had a bad experience. Always will be a returning customer.

This place is in Historic Downtown Mount Dora on an adorable alley. The Chicago Dog is my favorite. For a quick bite it's our go to spot in town.

Came here today after wanting something small to eat before going on a boat tour. Ended up getting a lot of food for very good prices! James took the order, cooked the food, brought the order out, and was very attentive. He was very nice and respectful. The place was clean, food was made to order, and I couldn't get over how large the loaded fries were! We actually had to get a to-go box for them because there was so much left over. The hot dogs were great! We got the Nathan's hot dogs, which were thick, juicy and flavorful. They also have other brands of hot dogs as well. I got the Hog Tied which had BBQ sauce, french fried onions, cheese, and bacon. My fiancé got the slaw dog which had sweet coleslaw, cheese, onions, and jalapeños. For a hot dog shop, the presentation is very nice, and the food looked very appetizing. I definitely recommend this place is you want good food for a great price, and outstanding customer service.

It was our first time visiting dukes, and we were pleasantly surprised!I ordered the hog tied dog. So delicious! My fiance ordered the chili coney and loaded fries. We were so full when we left.Sandra was so sweet and her suggestive selling skills were great.We will definitely be back!

Very friendly and hardworking staff, nice location, clean atmosphere, and good tasting fries! My only complaint is that they keep running out of vegan got dogs. Its happened 3x this year, so far. Since I'm traveling to them all the way from Altamonte Springs specifically for that product, the disappointment is significant. One time that it happened, I brought a friend and was embarrassed when it wasn't available. No attempt was made to make up for the issue. Management needs to do a better job keeping them in stock, or at least hand out 20% off coupons so that customers feel appreciated.UPDATE: Thanks for your reply, Duke's Dog. I appreciate hearing from you. I found another vegan got dog place in College Park and they've had no such supplier issues. When I can be assured by you that the problem has been fixed, then I'll check you out again. Thanks.

I've only tried them once while I was visiting Orlando, but dannnnng. Everything hit the spot! We got Chicago dogs and loaded fries, and I feel like we got the bang for our buck. I had a turkey dog, my bf had the regular. I'm a fan. Definitely quintessential comfort food!

I have to say I was a little disappointed with my slaw dog the fries were ok I have had some amazing hot dogs over the years from diffrent parts of the USA
First time eating a Dukes Dogs and we loved it. The girls in the front were friendly. The fries were hot, fresh, and crispy. We ordered the loaded fries and the chili was amazing!My husband ordered the big D dog he said it was the best tasting hot dog he ever ate.We will definitely be returning.

Home made real fresh hot French fries, excellent. Chicago Dog, very good. Coney dog, needs better hot dog chili recipe...not in keeping with what you're expecting from the name. Overall, nice place, good service, clean.

2 dogs, loaded fries, $20, not impressed. Dogs tasted like the ones I imagine you would get at a gas station….old! Fries were obviously old, dry, disguised by mushy toppings. First bad review I’ve written - had to be done - life is too short for bad food. Our bad for going 45 min before closing, but still no excuse when paying full price. Live local, won’t be back.

Great little eatery to stop while in Mt Dora. Its a nice place and the worker during the first shift is always so nice when I go there. So I have been here three times since living in the area and everytime it has been great and fresh. Today I decided to get the 12in because I seen the advertisement, I couldn't eat it all but it was great! Most definitely will return hopefully soon. Great location and parking also.
