Highland Street Cafe Reviews
My family stopped in today before we caught a flight home today.
My aunt and uncle live in Mount Dora and visit there often. My mom and I were visiting from Saint louis Missouri and was our first time there. I really wanted to give a shout out to your waiter that was working this morning around noon!! He was a superstar running around like crazy today. He was taking orders, seating customers, and cashing out customers. There was only one cook and one busser/dishwasher....read full review
Love coming here every time!! Always leave happy and full!! The BEST strawberry French toast and biscuits with gravy ❤️
I do not recommend this place, the attention to the public is good, but the quality of the food is super poor and the American coffee is too watery, I will never return.

Highland Street Cafe offers delicious breakfast and lunch options, including Belgian waffles, country fried steak, and pressed Cuban sandwiches. The cafe has a charming, small-town feel, reminiscent of visiting a grandmother's home, with friendly and attentive staff. It's a great little breakfast and/or lunch place. Customers have enjoyed the Pot Roast Omelet, filled with chunks of pot roast and swiss cheese, served with very good hash browns and raisin toast. The Nell burger was noted as giant and juicy, and the spinach and feta omelet looked great. Portions are large, with most prices around $10-15. With a wonderful selection of breakfast dishes, including delicious apple pancakes and light, fluffy biscuits served with thick, creamy gravy, it's a must-try when in Mount Dora. The cafe is known for its affordability and good food, making it a potential regular spot for many. However, there have been recent concerns about some changes, including the texture of the grits, which were previously the best in town. Despite this, the staff continues to do a great job, and the cafe remains a popular choice among locals.
