Well, where do I start a $175 Valentine's Day couple dinner that was shameful! Tiny appetizer of brie I mixed green salad with two grapes and a dried piece of chicken and salmon with some mashed potatoes And for dessert, four strawberries and two pieces of chocolate. And it took 30 minutes for every serving! I mean seriously you should refund everyone $100 for this dinner! And where was the French inspired meal? Nothing was inspiring And I'm born and raised in France. This was such a disappointment. I will never go back there again. To the owner/chef, please up your game this was not worth the money and you know it!

Amazing food everytime! The chef makes you feel like family. The best Valentines dinner we have ever had!

John and his staff were wonderful. Not only did he prepare a wonderful tea for the author event, he really went the extra TWO miles. First of all, he accomodated my special dietary needs. THEN, when my husband accidentally left his wallet at a nearby establishment, that owner remembered we had just been at the bistro; contacted the bistro, and Debrah called us to let us know it was safe and waiting for us so we would not freak out. Exceptional customer service!

We were a party of six celebrating a 70th Birthday with the “Tea in Paris” at this Bistro. Having tea somewhere is a birthday tradition with our group, so we have lots of experience with what to expect. Sadly we were extremely disappointed with what this Bistro served us! First of all, the champagne was served in tiny cordial/shot glasses, giving us just a few sips each… we thought it was a joke. Then the tea was brewed in lukewarm water with tiny portions of tuna and chicken salad served on pieces of a cracker (both disgusting) paired with a few tasteless cheeses and a couple of desserts that tasted like frozen store bought pastries. Our tea experience did not look anything like the pictures on their website and tasted nothing like described by other patrons, making us wonder if the Bistro is under new management now?? Not worth the price they charge. Do not recommend.

Chef John is one of the most amazing talented chefs/person ever!! He had created an atmosphere of warmth. His team may be small but they have the biggest hearts and you can feel the care and love they put into their food and service!! Thank you so much for an amazing birthday experience!!! High Tea was an outstanding experience and we will be back to try everything else on your menu as well as to enjoy the company again!!!

Everything was as it should be...starting with the food, of course. We (a group of 7) had soups (potato leek, French onion), salads (pear, salmon), sandwiches (ham & cheese, turkey & cheese, French dip) - all delicious! Service was outstanding - Dylan was wonderful. Ambience - absolutely welcoming and beautiful decor! If you are looking for a place for a special event or any time, you can't go wrong choosing the Mt. Dora Bistro!

Everything was absolutely wonderful—the atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food and desserts were delightful, and the hospitality was truly heartfelt. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind ✨. My service dog, Hachi, had a fantastic time too, enjoying treats and plenty of water 🐾. Thank you so much and we will be coming back!

We visited The Mount Dora Bistro on January 2, 2026, to celebrate my partner’s 64th birthday, and the experience was nothing short of exquisite.

From the moment we walked in, we were transported. We opted for the 'Evening in Paris' experience, which was a culinary journey from the first bite to the very last.
What truly sets this gem apart is the staff. Chef John went remarkably out of his way to enhance our evening, personally explaining each dish with such passion and taking the time to simply chat with us. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being hosted in a friend’s elegant home. If you are looking for authentic French flavors and world-class hospitality in downtown Mount Dora, this is it.

We cannot say enough good things—merci, Chef John!

If you're looking for delish French food and high tea, the new Mount Dora Bistro (where the former Windsor Rose tea room was) is just superb. Everything is made in-house, the staff are friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable, indoor and outdoor garden seating, and a huge menu, including classics like vichysoisse, escargot, coq au vin, fondue, etc. Absolutely divine! Tracy took great care of us and we will definitely be back!

I wanted to have the High Tea experience, but it was until 2:30 p.m., and that was not ok. Aternoon tea is served around 4:00 or 5:00 ( in England and Ireland at least) and High Tea is later, so we decided to go for dinner. Chef John greeted us like we were family, and our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately my appetizer was cold (scallops), my friend's steak was overcooked, but the tartlet was excellent. On the other hand, the price for the Brie with figs appetizer and baguette was way too much ($24). They did ask if everything was ok right from the start, but as we went through our food, we were a bit dissapointed. Everything needed a bit more character, but it was fresh. Portions are good. There was a great musician playing inside, but it was a nice night, and decided to sit outside so we could talk quietly. At the end of our meal, the waitress told us the musician was leaving so we could give him a tip! We sat outside so we didn't have to listen to the loud music,so why would I tip him? I will give it 1 more chance, just because John was so nice!

This is not just a restaurant is an encounter with taste and flavor. It was my first time and definitely not the last. You are treated like family and you can't go home without a smile from chef John and Adonis who are the owners. The food was incredibly good and by the way is all made to order because is all fresh ingredients. Love the atmosphere and the warmth of the staff. We need more businesses like this. Gave it a 5 🌟 because there was not a 10 🌟 scale.

I don’t need to write a long review because I think this picture says enough. I ordered steak frites and was served this: canned potato sticks on a well done steak for $38. Appetizers were cold and they use nespresso pods instead of brewing fresh coffee. It’s obvious to me that they like to cut corners. They demand fine dining prices but fall completely short of the quality. The chef was very nice but I don’t ever see myself coming back.
