Wow! What an unexpected and lovely bistro in Mount Dora. Better food than many of the meals we had in France. So Good! And friendly service on top of it. Awesome!

Very good food but small place, great hot tea selection but you need a reservation

This bistro is amazing! Such a cute little place where you can comfortably chat, sitting either inside or outside on the patio. John, the owner, is so friendly and always managed to stop by and say hi. My favorite for dinner was the Pork Au Pruneaux - so delicious. I also highly recommend the Champagne Brunch if you're there on a weekend, it's a tasty tower of food for a really good price.

We’ve been there twice, once for lunch (delicious) and yesterday for High Tea. It was fabulous! The staff is wonderful, excellent service.

Wow wow wow. I have no other words. The food, the service and the atmosphere. Love this place. I can’t wait to come back

I will never turn down French food, because I see so little of it in Florida. The Mount Dora Bistro has all my favorites, escargot and potato/leek soup and cassoulet and… I could go on, but just check out the menu.

My only regret is that I’m watching how much I eat, so I couldn’t over-order. I went with friends and everyone loved their meals.

Even though we are locals, it was our first time eating here. Simple but elegant and European decor. Extremely friendly and professional staff. I had the soup of the day and the salad Nicoise and was instantly reminded of our visits to Nice, France. Delicious. My husband had the French Onion Soup the Pear et Praline salad and we shared the French dip baguette. We were extremely pleased with the food and service. We like that they add the 20% gratuity to the check. It saves figuring it out. Looking forward to returning for the afternoon tea service and the cooking classes that they have. Highly recommend.

I look forward to going to the Bistro for lunch. I’ve not been there for dinner, yet. The atmosphere is elegant, the food presentation is also elegant, and John always greets us like old friends.

We just had dinner here for the first time.
We were met and seated by the owner, John.
We had a fantastic experience from start to finish.
Fresh out of the oven bread with brie fondue is a must.
We had the chicken pot pie and the short rib, both excellent.
We ended with the breadpudding and creme brulee. Both excellent but I'll be back for the bread pudding.
All in all, we just had a really nice evening and a nice dinner. And really enjoyed our conversation with the owner, John

I have never written a bad review before.

The chef was rude when I asked him why our meal took so long to get to the table (I believe it was 45 minutes). The table beside us were seated after us, served and left before us. It wasn't even busy.

He told my friend to leave and never come back when she asked why the soup was so watery. He said it was a puree. I made a puree last weekend and it wasn't runny at all!

I told him that he should not speak to his customers that way. I have owned businesses for years and would never speak like that to anyone! I feel sorry for his staff hopefully he isn't abusive to them.

Food was mediocre. Lunch turkey and Brie sandwich. Nothing fancy.

My friends and I had the privilege of paying $20+ each(and we all paid) for this awful meal.

I would NEVER recommend Mt Dora Bistro to anyone!

Lunch at Mount Dora Bistro was the worst experience ever. Very high prices, they automatically add the tip of 20% to your bill. Food was mediocre, which took 45 minutes to arrive. Asked to see the owner he blew up at my friend when she asked about why the soup was so watered down. Then told us all to leave and never come back Again. Told us if we didn’t like the service the next time go to McDonald’s. Have never been so rudely insulted by the proprietor of a business. This man was hostile.

This is the perfect brunch spot to visit! The attention to detail was incredible and the service was beyond! A very huge thank you to John (owner/chef) who welcomed myself and party of 8 like family. It was a wonderful way to spend a birthday brunch and the restaurant is truly charming. Debora our server was so lovely as well and took phenomenal care of us. I can’t speak highly enough of this establishment!

This Bistro is a welcomed and refreshing addition to the downtown food scene. The atmosphere and service was excellent. Thanks to Rita who took such good care of us. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend the baguette and cheese fondue. The pork “ribeye” was super tender and the sauce finished off the dish perfectly. You won’t be disappointed!

I knew as I was walking toward the restaurant that it was going to be fantastic. Wonderful architecture and design followed by an exceptional meal created by Jon. The service was exceptional and was highlighted by a visit from the Chef. That personal attention is a wonderful enhancement to any meal.
Looking forward to visiting again soon. .
