Their salsa is awesome, the best I've ever had. You can even get some to go!It's been a while since I've eaten here. It is almost as good as I remember it, which says a lot for 8+ years. I asked questions about the dishes as my memory isn't as good as it used to be, and the staff wasn't knowledgeable. They were friendly and polite, just not knowledgeable about the dishes served. Solid restaurant to visit every few years.
I have been back to Carmelita's 4 times since 2012 when I left the area with my best friend the love of my life Craig. Each time I've asked if Jose the owner was there. Jose helped me organize a party for Craig.Jose did come in and I did get to speak to him. Food and service is still great...glad to see Jose and Carmelita's is still doing well.... This place will always have a special place in my heart... Linda

My wife and I have been enjoying Carmelita's for over 20 years, going back to the flagship location in St. Petersburg. We were so pleased to learn that there was a New Port Richey location when we moved north a few years back and I'm happy to report that the NPR location is just as good as the original. Fantastic food, friendly staff, just a wonderful place overall. Could not recommend more highly!
