We stumbled upon this restaurant last year. We really enjoyed it. We looked forward to trying it again this year and planned on doing the same thing we did last year. Upon arriving to the restaurant, it was later in the evening. We had our baby with us who needed a high chair. Off the Hook Raw Bar & Grill offers exceptional food, with dishes like scallops with red potatoes and Parmesan crusted spinach, and mahi mahi. The atmosphere is laid-back with a nautical decor, creating a very pleasant environment. There is a full-service bar, and the menu features a large selection of appetizers, baskets, and entrees. Customers enjoy the comfortable neighborhood feel, where they can grab a seat at the bar or in a booth, watch football on Sundays, and enjoy food that is far above typical sports bar fare.
While there have been some delays in service, including longer waits for drinks and food, customers feel the food is worth it. Highlights include well-plated, fresh, and delicious items such as steamed shrimp in Old Bay Seasoning with hot butter, perfectly cooked swordfish, and the famous oysters during happy hour. The oysters, priced at $14 a dozen, are expertly shucked and come with excellent house-labeled hot sauces.
The servers, including Mac, are noted for their outstanding service, being personable and attentive while sharing knowledge about the menu. The food consistently impresses, with many customers appreciating the casual yet welcoming vibe. Although some dishes may occasionally fall short, like grilled mahi being overcooked, the overall quality remains high, making Off the Hook a recommended choice for those seeking excellent seafood in a friendly setting.
