Came here for a date night on a Sunday night, even had a babysitter sat at the bar upstairs. Couldn't even get one of the five bartenders or waitresses to even look at us so we walked out. Can't really comment on the food because we never got a chance to order drinks or food.

The grouper tacos were delicious, huge piece of fish on each. I was impressed! Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Packed on a Saturday afternoon. Hostesses were kids who looked bored. After 35 min wait we were sat upstairs. Waitress was ok, took our drink order, unsweet iced tea & strawberry lemonade, and returned in 10 mins to take the food order. Cheese steak sandwich & ahi tuna taco. The food wait was about 20 mins, which was fine although seemed longer due to the awful singer, why these guys think they xan sung is beyond me. My cheese steak was ok, cole slaw was ok, dill spear was good. Her ahi tuna taco was buried in some sweet sauce, which drowned out the flavor of the tuna. Its a dive bar, par for the area.

Great view. Our waitress was nice and helpful. I wish they had more vegetarian options. Maybe like an impossible burger or something would be nice

During our recent visit to Nokomo’s Sunset Hut, we found the overall experience to be a mix of highs and lows. The waterfront location and tiki-themed ambiance provided a delightful setting, enhanced by the attentive and friendly staff who offered helpful recommendations about nearby beaches.
We began our meal with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. While the tuna itself was fresh and flavorful, we found the accompanying sweet sauce overpowering. Fortunately, the wasabi mayo and soy sauce served on the side complemented the dish well.
For our main courses, we tried the mussels and the tacos. The mussels were seasoned with an all-day blend that we felt was overly spiced, and the addition of tomatoes didn’t quite suit our tastes. In contrast, the tacos were a highlight—particularly the lobster claw taco, which was delicious and seemed to be a popular choice among patrons.
To accompany our meal, we ordered margaritas. I opted for the “Lime in the Coconut,” which was refreshing and well-balanced. My wife chose the spicy margarita; however, she found it didn’t meet her expectations in terms of flavor.
In summary, while there were some aspects of our dining experience that didn’t fully align with our preferences, the combination of a vibrant atmosphere, exceptional service, and certain standout dishes like the lobster claw taco made our visit to Nokomo’s Sunset Hut enjoyable. We would consider returning, perhaps to explore other menu options that might better suit our tastes.

Older hostess woman was rude. Food was OK nothing special. Was uncomfortable how the waitress stood over us with the electronic card swipe thing to close our bill while we selected her tip, when she literally didn't do anything but take our order (no recommendations/no small talk) and of course there wasn't a quick selection for anything less than 20%. Would have tipped that anyways but still. We won't be back.

Food and atmosphere are good and the service ok. It’s hard to find parking and the wait to get a table can be over an hour.

The space is actually small. They do their best to fit people with added chairs on the beach. Bit it’s a bar with a terrific so don’t expect a quick turnover of patrons. Staff is friendly and the vibe is super laid back.

Food was so good! My wife and I got the lobster rolls (which you can get cold or hot, our fav is hot) and the ahi tuna tacos, so we traded 1 for 1. Both delicious. We also got the ahi nachos as an appetizer- incredible. We waited over an hour, they do have some beach chairs and a bar while you wait. Only one toilet per gender so there was constantly a line. If you don’t mind all that, the food is worth it.
Parking: Very small parking lot for the amount of people dining/ waiting for a table

I visited for a drink and lunch, but their entrées are several dollars more than anywhere else I’ve been to this week so I just got a drink. This little tiny drink cost over $13. I mentioned that the price was a little steep and she said that all of the drinks got two shots. I watched her bartending. That is not true. Also, the drinks at Sharky’s are stronger and much cheaper.

So sorry for this review because the food and the bar service was amazing, however your waitress Grace was less than professional today. We came in with 6 people and was sat at a booth where we didn't all fit so 2 of us moved to the table across from the booth and we were all happy. When the waitress came to take drink orders she was clearly upset and said she had to go ask if we could take up 2 tables...so I went to the hostess stand to find out what was going on. The waitress Grace seemed very confrontational and defensive after I simply stated if we couldn't have the 2 tables we would be happy to take our business down the street. She basically got in my face and started to tell me to back down that i was coming at her which is not the case. The fact she said she needed to ask if we could take two tables is a problem. But we went to the tables and continued to order dinner and drinks all while the waitress Grace ignored my table and never asked if we wanted a refill or if my food was OK like she did for the other table but bygons right.... guess not. When the check came I was holding the credit card machine as she stood over me. I clicked no tip as I had cash to leave. As soon as I clicked no tip, she started in on me again telling me she was spoken to disrespectfully, which is not true. I asked her nicely to walk away as I was about to leave her tip and leave the restaurant and she told me she didn't want anything from me especially my money. What a shame. I just deleted my 5 star review to make sure you hear my side because I would guarantee you don't get the entire story from your waitress Grace. I felt attacked for wanting to put 6 people on a booth and a table. I truly believe that she needs some training on how to handle that situation better. Maybe next time we can make a 5 star again.
