Great place! Food, service, facility all top notch. I have eaten a lot of grouper sandwiches in my days and the best I’ve ever had was here! Highly recommended!
This restaurant is absolutely amazing! The seafood is fresh and perfectly prepared. The waterfront location makes for such a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere -- good music --Management, bartenders and wait Staff are all outstanding-- friendly, attentive, make you feel right at home. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for great food, great service, and an nice experience!!!
New to the area, I have been here a few times, order a custom drink from downstairs bartender, made perfectly. I ordered the same drink upstairs, was not the same, asked to make a small change to ingredients, was told Unfortunately we can't make changes without charging you more!!! All I am asking is to follow the recipe. This not how you treat a new customer! Just make the adjustment, customer is happy, and you gain a repeat customer, not a hard concept! The manager came over, same ant-customer response, they have a lot to learn for business longevity. By the way the food is as bad as the customer relationship!!!
It’s a good vibe place, nice place to sit have a drink and watch the sunset. But that’s about it….food nothing special and a little overpriced, $100 bill for 2 drinks, small appetizer, and (2) tacos a piece. Probably won’t be back, missed the mark on the food.
Great views of the bay. Very friendly staff. Service was fast. Quality of food was good. Great place to enjoy the sunsets. We will return...
Chicken sh..t manger. I asked for no onions with my burger. Our waiter was nice, but missed our grandson’s drink order and my no onion request. When the manager came over to ask how was our dinner was and when I explained my allergy to onions, he apologized. However we still had to pay for half of my meal. Upon leaving he asked if we were satisfied, I said no. So bring the bill and I’ll refund you the rest of the bill. When my husband drove to pick me up he disappeared!
On my recent trip to Sarasota, my friend and I went to Nokomo's and we sat at the bar. No complaints about the food, service and drinks. However, I did not see it stated anywhere that their policy is to include the gratuity on the bill. They also include an additional "tip table" on the bottom of the check so at quick glance, one would not think the gratuity is already on the bill. To be fair, it is indicated as "tip" on the bill but since I was treating my friend, I did not want to scrutinize the bill that closely in front of her. Perhaps this is a Florida thing but I am only accustomed to the gratuity being added automatically for dinner parties of six or more and in that case the policy is always clearly stated on the menu. Adding a gratuity for two people having drinks at a bar? Never! Consequently, I paid the bill and left my customary 20 % tip in cash. Which now amounted to to a 40% tip as they had already generously included a 20% gratuity for themselves on the bill already! Of course, the staff does not mention it's already on the bill clearly gambling one will make the same mistake I did. BTW-I only had one drink, this was not a mistake borne out of intoxication. I won't dispute it as in the end it was my mistake to not read the bill closely but unfortunately, the memories of a good drink, the cool vibe, the fun chit chat with the bartender all went out the window when I got home and realized I was just a mark for this gratuity con. Shame on you Nokomo's.
I came to Nokomis Tiki Hut for a peaceful lunch, and instead I was harassed three separate times in under 20 minutes—by the manager herself. It started when my service dog barked once, and the manager immediately told me I needed to leave. I calmly explained that she is a trained service animal, under control, and that what she was saying wasn’t legally valid. She didn’t care. The second time, she came back to tell me my dog couldn’t be in my lap due to a supposed health code violation. That’s not true, but I complied anyway and put her on the ground—still trying to de-escalate. She continued pushing. By the third time, I asked to speak to the owner, because clearly the manager was the problem. Another staff member gave me a name and email, and I said I would be filing a formal complaint. Let me be clear: This wasn’t about a bark. This wasn’t about a lap. This was about someone in a position of power deciding they didn’t want me there—and making sure I felt it. The behavior was rude, confrontational, and clearly driven by personal bias, not policy. I did nothing wrong. I was calm, respectful, and cooperative. And yet I was singled out, embarrassed, and made to feel like a burden—for having a legally protected service animal. I will never return, and I will be warning others—on every platform and in every local conversation—exactly what kind of treatment they can expect here. From the management conduct, to the false claims, to the blatant hostility—this experience was unacceptable on every level
Whose brilliant idea was it to design a waterfront bar where the patrons back is to the view? I’d heard the new owners had cleaned it up, hired a talented chef and the food was fun, interesting and healthy. So not the case. They removed the regular elevator and installed an antiquated “wheel chair lift” that makes one pray you’ll arrive safely. Lame attempt at ADA compliance. The food delivery consists of a window opening in the back bar, food set on a cooler- with the flies buzzing about - and when the bartender gets to it- he’ll bring it. I ordered a prime rib cheese steak- a few small strips of gray meat inundated in cheese. A play on words, they named this place after a beloved Buffet tune hoping to cash in on the “feeling”. Jimmy would be ticked. Nothing redeeming about this place- a sad representation of a tourist trap.
Great location and great view, not to mention the happy hour drinks!!! Our Shrimp and Cheese Flatbread was outstanding great flavors

I'm so glad I found Nokomo's! What an awesome place, no surprise it was hopping on a weeknight. We had about a 40 minute wait, but you can order drinks from the bar and sit in Adirondack chairs by the water while you wait, so it's not a bad wait at all. Service was great, and the view was so nice from the upper level while we ate. The food was fantastic - hard to choose! If you like mahi mahi, the wrap is a perfect option. The drinks we had were stellar. Huge, huge drink menu. They have live music 6-9 p.m. so it makes for a fantastic tropical atmosphere. This was hands down my favorite meal and favorite restaurant of our entire Siesta Key trip!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️There are not enough stars to adequately rate this little gem! Found this place by accident! We had went to another local restaurant and the food was not good. We decided to leave & on our way home found NoKoMo’s. Still hungry we thought what the heck… so glad we stopped! Wow! The Mahi Taco’s were out of this world. Cannot remember what our other entree was called but it was phenomenal too! The view & outside dining was just icing on the cake. We give this place & our fantastic waiter Todd, Ten times ten stars!
Nachos and cocktails are to die for! We try and make it there once a week!
Comfortable, casual place. We sat on the shaded deck and had the perfect breeze to stay comfortable. Food was very fresh and had lots of flavor. Wait staff was helpful and prompt.
Came here for a date night on a Sunday night, even had a babysitter sat at the bar upstairs. Couldn't even get one of the five bartenders or waitresses to even look at us so we walked out. Can't really comment on the food because we never got a chance to order drinks or food.
