Ice cream was nothing out of the ordinary. I got 4 scoops of ice cream for almost $30 is insane. There were two employees. One was very kind to my daughter the other one who took my order was so extremely rude. Made it seem like I was bothering her coming in. She scooped the ice cream and then went to eating food, I don’t know about cross contamination but she was not washing her hands or anything. Didn’t great or say anything to me just stood there and looked at me like I was stupid until I told her what I wanted. It was a horrible experience.
. Drove out of our way there- absolutely miserable staff. My son caught a young woman giving my daughter dirty looks- for no reason. Son came out to the car, and 5 mins later all my other kids talked about how miserable and awkward the workers were. That’s really sad!!! Kids are so excited for a sweet treat and the experience was anything but “sweet.” Now we won’t be back.

Worth the drive for homemade ice cream — and yes, it was dinner.
We drove to Sweet Melissa’s from Venice because we’d heard they make their own ice cream, and it was absolutely worth the trip. Ice cream for dinner is a bit of a Sunday night tradition for us, and the generous scoops here definitely made it meal-worthy.
There were four of us, and everyone found their go-to favorite — the flavor list is impressively long, so there’s something for everyone. Friendly service, great ice cream, and a fun local spot that we’d happily return to.
Highly recommend if you’re in the area (or even if you’re not — it’s worth the detour!).
