I love the professionalism, and the courtesy the waiter showed. However, the food was not exciting. It was delicious. You can tell each ingredient was fresh farm to table but Procuring quality ingredients does not Equate quality food. Our medium rare steak was extremely charred. And the sides for our 54$ Chilean sea bass ( from chile ) was asparagus and crushed red potatoes lightly seasoned.
I will recommend trying this restaurant just to get out of the habit of eating at multitude of chain restaurants ocala has to offer.

It’s been about a month since I came here and am still thinking about it. The staff, the ambience, the food and reasonable prices. This place is what I think of when hospitality comes to mind. Awesome place.

The service was outstanding, each of us ordered something different and we each enjoyed our food. A great place to eat and we will be back in the near future
The ambiance and service were excellent. I had the seared salmon, salad, vegetables and red skin potatoes. The salmon filet was a little small but prepared just as I requested. My husband had the lobster bisque and caesar salads which very much enjoyed. But his entree was a disappointment. He ordered the Classic Meatloaf entree. It looked like it was prepared from a frozen box and was tasteless. Overall a good experience...just won't order the meatloaf again!
Wonderful dinner. Everyone's entree was outstanding. Princess Di bread pudding to “Di” for! Alex, our waiter, awesome!
Atmosphere left a LOT to be desired... Snobby and pretentious were the words that came to mind during our visit. This place feels cramped and outdated, bar was absolutely empty of patrons, tables are far too close together and seating was old and uncomfortable. Service was par for the course, we were told we could not sit in the booth by the person seating us, even with a reservation established well before-hand. No child / booster seat was offered, even when explicitly requested in the reservation notes. Waiter was decent, kept drinks full and was prompt to check in throughout the meal, a pleasant surprise. The food was a mixed bag: The onion fritter appetizer was absolutely delicious, and the two sauce pairings were perfect for the dish. Id go back for this alone, the other menu items...not so much... The braised short rib was covered in a tasteless ju like gravy and the meat was charred/singed on the edges, either overcooked or sat under a hot lamp for some time. Came with small serving of mashed potatoes that were unremarkable, and we swapped the mirepoix veggies for a side salad which was not great / slightly wilted. Not a hit for us. The ribeye steak was 16 oz, boneless, for $65+, which is eyewatering to think I could get a better cut of steak for cheaper elsewhere. The steak flavor was excellent, however, and I suspect they use truffle salt / oil to aid the flavor profile, which is kind of a snobby hack, if so. Pan seared in butter to finish, this ended up being the second best bite of the entire meal, as well as the most expensive. The braised onion soup was a huge disappointment, no body/depth, flavor leaned towards wine/acidic tasting, which kind of made the soup sour. Cheese was melted over bread, but the soup was not very hot. The stock used for the base was pretty flavorless and had none of the umami elements that make up the better onion soups out there. Also tasted a hint of soy or something similar, weird profile. Probably the worst dish of the meal. For the namesake of the establishment, I went in thinking the soup would be much better than it was, which kinda spoiled the rest of the experience for me. Paired with the overpriced and bland entrees, I think we will not be visiting this place again.
Delicious food, varied menu, attentive service....great experience! Also, quiet enough to have a conversation! Win!
Absolute fabulous afternoon at the Braised Onion. I had guests from out of town and they're quite experienced with fine dining and they were duly impressed by everything. Our bartender was Trevor who made excellent drinks, our server was Andrew who was very attentive and helpful with the menu and our chef was Jason who prepared the steaks and the salmon to perfection. I would not hesitate for a moment to encourage anyone and everyone to have a dining experience like we did at the Braised Onion.
What a wonderful restaurant from the ambiance, lovely staff and service to the awesome food! Thank you for making my mom's Birthday Celebration one to remember! Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back again!

Drink served in a contaminated glass, ask for replacement and they argued with me. STRANGE... All food was good , except the risotto, pasty, gooey over cheese. We spent $75 per person, value was ok. If I may suggest: bar need a good cleaning and take risotto off the menu. One more note they did give me a $13 credit for the drink at the end of dinner. In Ocala this was an above average meal...
This was our fourth time dining here, and nothing ever disappoints. The food is always fabulous and the service is top notch. Highly recommend!
Food was a little Slow coming out but very good. I had crab cakes and the poached pear salad which I would definitely order again. My husband had prime rib which he said was great.
Food was fine, but nothing special. Wine and cocktail prices about average. Wouldn't go again if we're in the neighborhood.
It is 4:15 on a Saturday night and the restaurant would not let me place a to go order. They never even heard my order which was for one person. I have never experienced this before and I might be more inclined to understand their position if it was later tonight. Therefore we will not be dining in at this establishment and will let our friends and coworkers know of our experience.
