We are in Ocala for a swim meet. We wanted Thai food for dinner. The Royal Orchid was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious! Very authentic, fresh, and full of flavor. The service was exceptional and the ambiance was very relaxing. We will definitely return!

As newcomers to Ocala, we have tried numerous restaurants with many disappointments. Last night we ventured to Royal Orchid. We did not have high hopes when we arrived. It is situated in an old strip mall right on Highway 200 that has seen better days. WOW were we pleasantly surprised. The decor inside is unique, inviting, and immaculate. I had the "sizzling seafood" and my wife had the nightly special, soft shelled crab with shrimp. Mine consisted of a huge lobster tail, calamari, shrimp and vegetables in a ginger chili sauce. It was outstanding. The soft shelled crab was cooked perfectly. We were both shocked at the quality of the meal. The owner, Josie, told us that the restaurant has been there 30 (!) years. She was warm and welcoming. Please try the Royal Orchid for a great, authentic, Thai dinner. We will definitely be back!

Love the relaxed environment. Food was great. Portions perfect and the service was balanced to enjoy the food without someone hovering. Highly

Best Thai food in Ocala. Not that there's many options but you know what I mean.

Food and service were really good but the decor and plates etc. could do with updating. As it was Valentines Day I expected a long wait, ut it was timed to perfection. Keep it up

Food was mediocre. My husband ordered basil fried rice and it was decent. If you ask for spicy they don’t accommodate instead they give you some ground cayenne on the side that you can add in to make spicy not even real thai chili’s. I ordered satay chicken and that had good flavor. The papaya salad was just ok. Again not spicy and lacking fish sauce, lime and thai chilis. They don’t have sticky rice either. Also ordered a side of Tom Yum chicken soup and that took was lacking flavor. The staff was nice just not accommodating and not willing to make my food spicy even though I said I eat very spicy food! If you’re looking for authentic Thai cuisine. Keep looking this place is not it!

I’m very picky when it comes to Thia food and this place is amazing. My go to is Pad Thai and I have them add duck, which is a up charge but worth it. The duck is nice and crispy and the noodles have a lot of flavor. The portions are very generous I share with my wife. Highly recommend this place for Thia style food.

A coworker and I went here based on the reviews. I ordered the crab rangoons as an appetizer. They were decent but overpriced (5 for $11 or $12). I ordered the chicken fried rice. When it arrived I was a little nervous because it didn't smell very appetizing. I had a couple of bites and it wasn't great so I asked for some soy sauce. I then found a giant black CARPENTER ANT in my rice. . I put it on a side plate and gave it to the waitress. She inspected it, showed it to another employee and said "it's an ant." Exactly. She apologized and told us we were all set (since my coworker also lost his appetite).

Went here recently as we drove through town with my folks. Service was excellent. The owner, Josie, was super friendly as was our server, Angel. We had a couple of orders of Tom Kha soup (very tasty; could've used a little bit more veggies in there, but the broth was delicious). We also had some green curry dishes and and order of larb. The curries were delicious and fresh and the larb; although not like the traditional I've seen where it's chopped up, was also delicious and fresh. I would definitely go back again!

My wife and I have had dinner here a couple of times. The food and service are very good, it's just a hole in the wall in a strip mall, but once you walk inside it is decorated very nice. The prices are reasonable, highly recommend trying it out.
