“Delicious food. Good selection of vegetarian dishes. Had curry. Just spicy enough. Lots of veggies and tofu. All done right. Clean, nice atmosphere, attentive staff.Vegetarian options: Veggies were done just right. Slightly crisp. Not soggy.“
“My friend invited me to have lunch with him here. I would normally not patronize this place only because I usually don't like theme or chain restaurants. Anyway, we arrived at 11:30am sat in a comfortable booth and ordered. I had the eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti, he had the fettuccine alfredo, since we both wanted a side salad the server brought us a big bowl to share with plenty of bread sticks. I must say I was very pleased with the meal. It was good, taking all factors into consideration of "chain restaurants" I was pleasantly surprised. Also surprising was the total bill of $23.00. We left a $7. Tip because the young lady serving us was so nice.“
“New to Ocala and have tried at least 6 other Chinese Food restaurants. Hands down this is the best so far, the Won Ton soup actually had flavor to it compared to other places. My wife and I had Shrimp Lo Mein and Pork Lo Mein both packed with plenty of flavor as well as the Pork Fried rice. They do have a few tables if you want to sit there and eat but we just did takeout, the woman at the front counter who gave me my order was very nice and friendly. We will be back to try some other dish next time hopefully it will be just as good.“
“I've been coming here for 10+ years. It's probably my favorite restaurant in all of Ocala! It's family-owned and operated, they have the best and freshest sushi, prices are amazing, portions are more than enough, and the ginger dressing alone is worth coming in!I can't say enough good things about this place or the food, you just have to come and try it yourself!Vegetarian options: Tofu options, tempura veggies, veggie rolls, fried rice, soup, salad.“
“Visited the Southern Pig & Cattle on a week night in February 2024. I read some of the reviews before we decided to visit. The reviews were kind of mixed with some folks raving and others painting a picture how bad it was. But there were way more positive reviews than negative. So we went with our gut and gave them a try.The inside had the rustic feel of your typical BBQ or steak house. It wasn't overly large, but probably large enough for their needs. The menu was a two sided, laminated card that was easy to hold. Southern Pig was quite busy when we arrived and it seemed to be all at the same time. So the staff seemed somewhat overwhelmed. But the staff worked very well together to help each other where they could. As such, we dealt with three different staff members, who did their best to serve us as quickly as possible. Although service wasn't the fastest, it was quite good considering the crowd that seemed to walk in around the same time.We didn't get a large meal and instead went with sandwiches. We had one pulled pork sandwich on garlic bread and a baked potato. Although they didn't provide real butter for the baked potato, instead serving the fake butter. As well as a brisket sandwich on garlic bread with Baked beans. We used sauce on both. I personally tried both sandwiches and both were very good. Other than the sides being reversed on the two meals, it was quite good. Actually it was one of the better meals we've had since we haven't been frequenting BBQ restaurants all that often. So when we do, they are that much better. They have a salad and soup bar, but we didn't try it this time. We were more focused on BBQ. Although it didn't look bad at all. There is a drive through window for folks on the go. And the wife said that the ladies restroom was clean.Southern Pig and Cattle turned out like we had expected it to be. It was a good meal. You always think that it could be less expensive, but here it really wasn't bad. Even though we didn't go for the larger meals. The sandwiches with one side seemed just right. I ate my whole meal and didn't leave felling like I needed more. It was about right. The food and service were good considering the Rush they were encountering at the time. All in all, we found the Southern Pig to be what we expected. A nice meal in a rustic setting, that doesn't break the bank to enjoy.Parking: Although not the easiest parking lot to navigate and park with other vehicles and in the dark. It wasn't bad. Our spot seemed large enough.Wheelchair accessibility: Although we do not have to deal with this issue. It looked like it would be decent to maneuver a wheel chair around. Our table had leg chairs that could be removed to make way for a wheel chair. Other than navigating through the door, it seemed fairly wide and flat to traverse the restaurant. Although I don't know for sure, it looked adequate to me.“
“The food we ordered from Doordash for dinner was fantastic. I already left a review through doordash about our delivery driver (1 star for stealing my food!) But anyways, after the fiasco of having my bag opened by the DD driver and her stealing our large Mac and cheese, the manager Sarah RE-ORDERED the missing large Mac for re-delivery. It took less than 30 minutes to get the re-ordered Mac, which they paid for. When we opened it up she had even sent a big chocolate chip cookie for free! She was so courteous and kind on the phone as well. I think her professionalism should be applauded as very few are left in any industry with human courtesy nowadays. So thank you to manager Sarah!!“
“I took my mother-in-law here yesterday on our girls' day out. The staff is all really nice, the menue has lots of great options including, the Greek Chicken Sub, which is what I chose. There are a few small tables if you want to eat there. The bathrooms are kept immaculate, and on your way back, make sure to check out all the cute merch they sell. Prices are good for what you get. We both ate for just over $20 including chips and drinks.“
