This place basically serves glorified bar food at 4 star prices. If you want a $20 burger, it's fine. I sent the shrimp pasta back, easily top three worst dishes I've ever tasted. Atmosphere is just ok, feels a little like a college cafeteria.

Came here for dinner one night during our stay and the food was great. We asked to be seated outside so our server was the bartender who did a great job!Had the wings for an appetizer and they were quite good. The only complaint with dinner was the steak…it was a bit tough. We had a an enjoyable time enough to come back the day we were leaving for breakfast. We skipped the buffet and ordered a la carts.Everyone enjoyed the last meal at Universal.

Extremely disappointing experience. Visited with family, my father in law and I ordered a steak. Both were cold, the vegetables were cold, and the potatoes were cold. No steak knife despite asking three different people. My 9 year old son ordered a margherita pizza, they brought an adult flatbread rather than the pizza from the children's menu (would like to think that was obvious, but apparently not). They (quite rightly) removed the steaks from the bill, but I would have much rather paid full price for an enjoyable evening rather than this disaster! A real low point of an otherwise excellent holiday. To the management: At the time of writing, 5 of the last 10 reviews are either 1 or 2 stars, whereas before that the reviews are mostly positive. You have a quality issue developing that you need to deal with urgently.

We had two dinners here while staying at the hotel and visiting Universal parks during the March break. By far our favorite restaurant comparing to nearly ten other places we had visited at Disney park/resort and Universal parks/city walk. The dishes were all freshly prepared, excellent taste and very good portion. The price is also fair especially consider this is inside a resort. The restaurant is also big, bright, clean, and family friendly. The open kitchen allows you to see chef and his team busy preparing your dishes. Overall our favorite place in Orlando by far and we are normally quite picky. Thank you Amatista

We didn't have to wait at all for a table which was nice so we just dropped in before heading out to the parks. And our server was the sweetest! A+ on service and the food was pretty good too! Highly recommend the open faced breakfast arepa, it was delicious!

Food was decent but service was horrible. Our food was waiting at the pass for over 15 minutes before any waiter brought it over. When we asked for the check it took them over 20 minutes before we had to go up and pay. Despite all of this we were forced to pay an 18% tip. Will not be returning here.

Buffet was bland. Scrambled eggs runny, pancakes dry and no flavor, omelet had zero salt. Sausages were good and wait staff was attentive but overpriced for quality.

I would have given 5-stars, but it took 25 minutes to bring the bottle of wine to the table. Ordered the ribeye and it came to the table without a steak knife, the butter knife wouldn't cut it. Waited another 10 minutes waiting for them to find a steak knife. Food and atmosphere were phenomenal just like the rest of the property, but the timing for the wine and knife was beyond frustrating...we were hungry and looking forward to a nice dinner.

Review of Amatista Cookhouse at Lowes Sapphire Universal Resort:Our experience at Amatista Cookhouse at Lowes Sapphire Universal Resort was a mix of positives and negatives. Upon checking in, we were provided with an online menu that did not match the physical menu at the restaurant. This discrepancy extended to allergens, with dishes showing as gluten-free online but not matching the actual allergen information at the restaurant. It appears that the online menu has not been updated for some time.Another significant concern is that the restaurant exclusively uses soybean oil for cooking, which may pose challenges for individuals with allergies. It is advisable to inquire with the waiter about specific allergens before placing an order.Despite these issues, the limited food we tasted was good, and the standout feature of our experience was the exceptional service provided by Server Sosa. He went above and beyond to assist us during the allergen confusion, constantly communicating with the chef and ensuring our needs were met.Overall, while there were issues with menu discrepancies and allergens, the quality of service from Server Sosa made our dining experience at Amatista Cookhouse memorable.

Excellent restaurant. It's at Universal Loews Saphire Falls. Price not very different from that applied at Citywalk. Great breakfast. Pay part of the daily

We enjoyed our lunch at Amatista Cookhouse. Lots of big tables for large groups - the place seats 480+ people. The food was good and the prices were reasonable.
