Very good restaurant, managed by the owner himself, a great experience. Family restaurant. Unfortunately they are moving. Soon they will move to a new location.

If you haven't been before, you need to make your way over to Banana Leaf. It's a wonderful flavor overload! The dishes are huge, and the food is super filling. The "fruit drink" part of the menu are made fresh.

This isn't Indian food. Definitely it's own unique thing that everybody should try at least once.

We got the roasted chicken biryani and the village curry+rice. The biryani is unlike any biryani I've tried, it's totally dry and has a minty tone with a lot of spices to it. All the meats were delicious too.

The "spicy" level is interesting. My mouth is not burning at all, but the food has a "make you sweat" kind of hot. It's a little hard to describe.

The staff were all super nice. The decor is cute and vibrant. You can tell they care about their food.

We'll definitely be back!

Orlando, FL. Sri Lankan food is rare in Florida and this restaurant is the only one in the whole state! So I came here because it popped up on so many of my searches. I’m glad I made the drive. Sri Lankan cuisine is different from anything I’d had before.

Everything was so delicious!!!

It’s not Indian food, said the owner (although when you read the menu you might think it’ll taste like it). Their dal and rice and fish curry are made with different ingredients than I’d had elsewhere.

I had fish curry made with mackerel; dal made with golden lentils that was thick like hummus; red rice which the owner said has no carbs; beet curry (yum!!! so good for you); jack fruit that tasted like meat; an appetizer of fish buns with a chili and fish sauce dipping paste; and ginger tea. Everything was fresh and not greasy at all. I felt so healthy after my meal.

The presentation was exotic, with a real, large banana leaf half-wrapping the platter to keep the heat in. A wooden spoon accompanied my food (in Hawaii a plate lunch to me doesn’t taste like my childhood without the wooden chopsticks so I get it).

Service from the owner (Neal? Neil? He is Sri Lankan) and the chef was personable, warm and responsive. I made new friends in them.

The restaurant was beautiful and spotless! But the music catered more to their regular patrons; it was fast-paced and fresh, which I enjoyed. But as a 59-year-old who sees a restaurant as a mini-vacation to exotic lands I’d have loved some slow Sinhala instrumental music—still exotic but more in line with savoring the flavors and enjoying the ambiance of this fine establishment.

This is one place I think all my friends should visit! You will not be disappointed.

We started our dinner with the 3 Pattys. I had the Sri Lankan Kothu Roti - Mutton (Sri Lankan street food) & we also had the Devilled Chicken. The server Kathy was excellent and was doing it all. The food was generous in portion and full of flavor . Nice clean and quiet ambiance

Loved my first visit to Banana Leaf! Everything was so full of flavor, and the presentation was nice too. I was so excited to see beetroot curry on the menu so that's what I ordered, and I really enjoyed that dish. The rest of my family ordered various meat dishes (chicken, pork, rabbit, fish) and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I never tried Watalappan (one of the desserts) before, but both of my sisters ordered it and it was delicious, too! Next time I come I'll definitely order one for myself. Also, this seems a little strange to highlight, but I really liked that there is an additional handwashing station outside the bathroom, near the back of the main eating area, but accessible for anyone to use before and after they eat. It's a nice feature that I'm glad they included. We all enjoyed our experience! Looking forward to coming back for more.

Just found this place after living in the area for a while and it’s great!! The owner comes table to table explaining the food options in such a passionate way. The food is similar to Indian food but with different types of spices. Super flavorful food. Definitely worthwhile to try out!

I was recommended to try Banana Leaf Restaurant, and as a food enthusiast who loves supporting small businesses, I gave it a shot. Needless to say, it was worth it. I was impressed by both the food and the outstanding service. I'll definitely be back.

The food is just so great and I don't think you'll find anything like it anywhere else in the area. Everything is spiced/seasoned really well and there are a lot of great options. Please go here and support this wonderful restaurant!
