My husband and I did a weekend staycation and noticed that the hotel we were staying at had a restaurant. Now I normally don’t like hotel restaurants because the food and service usually would be terrible, but not Delaney Tavern! They exceeded our expectations! I was relatively shocked at how great the food was and the attentive service that we received! Shelby was our waitress and she, along with some others quickly brought out our food and checked on us to see if we needed anything else. It’s such a shame no one really knows about this hidden gem with reasonable prices!Atmosphere: modern contemporary feel. Only con: was a bit warm in the restaurant.Food:appetizer: Blue Crab Beignets - 3.5/5- well cooked but not much flavor although the horseradish aioli and apple slices added a nice sweet savory taste on your paletteMain dishes:Smoked Brisket Tacos- 4/5- brisket was cooked to perfection. Definitely a unique taco with roasted peppers in the flour tortillas.Squid ink shrimp linguine- 4.5/5- huge scallops and shrimp with purple colored linguine with a creamy orange sauce with a kick of heat. Linguine was cooked al dente (the way I like it). But the star of the meal was the sauce.Dessert:Hummingbird cake ? 4.5/5Wow.. this cake was so soft and the added pineapple cream cheese with hints of coconut was amazing! My husband and I was fighting for the last bite ?Overall: Will definitely come again

Dined on Saturday night and found the experience to be "just okay". There was a larger party seated close by who were very loud. Can't blame the restaurant for that but it was off putting. We had the calamari special, which was fine, slightly underdone but better than others we've had. The scallop, shrimp and grits entree was quite uninspired for a 30+ meal. The grits were served like a scoop of ice cream and while they were warm, the scallops and shrimp were both underdone. Our server was quite good, thankfully. However, don't waste your dollars here as there are much better restaurants nearby for the price.

Our groups has had dinner meetings for several years at Delaney's and the food is wonderful and service is always outstanding. I have also frequented with my husband and friends for lunch, happy hour and dinner and service is always dependable and the food is delicious. I have enjoyed appetizers, soups, salad and several different entrees. The bar has some amazing cocktails. It is lucky to have such a restaurant and bar in the South of Downtown area.
We had dinner here and it was great! There was a nice selection to choose from. My husband went for the filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked. He also enjoyed the lobster bisque! I had the shrimp salad and blue crab flatbread. The servings were all big and delicious! We were too full for dessert but we’ll need to try that next time. Our server, Destiny, was attentive and so sweet! We had a nice time and we’ll definitely be back!

I could not have asked for a more perfect place to have had my sons wedding rehersal lunch.. From the food to the staff everything was perfect.. Special thanks again to Bryant who was amazing with everything.. and Paige and Jilianna were great alsoKid-friendliness: had kids from 1 month old to 9. 7kids in all no problem
