John Michael Catering and Weddings

This review is late but I can't go on with thanking John Michael's Events Catering and the incredible staff for making my daughters bridal shower memorable, stress free, and enjoyable. The food was amazing we had the adobo chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, baked corn casserole (her favorite), the pesto primavera pasta and the cheesecake of course with the toppings. The entire experience was amazing from the food to the service, it was impeccable. The set up at Leu Gardens was very nice, comfortable and roomy. Michael, Giselle and the rest of the staff were true professionals and very helpful. They truly have a passion in what they do. They always answered all my questions responded to my concerns and were able to execute my daughter's bridal shower to be a moment she will remember for a life time. Thanks again!! I attended John Michael’s recent tasting event and can’t say enough great things about the food and friendly, caring staff. I’ve actually used this company for several events and have had nothing but the best service snd high quality scratch items at a reasonable price. I saw a very harsh review about the tasting event I attended with several others in my group and we couldn’t disagree more. I tasted the salad mentioned and the greens and ingredients looked and tasted fresh - it is not complex or fussy, but tasty and approachable, which most crowds want. The meat was all fresh and I had a wonderful piece of freshly sliced medium rare meat with tasty dipping sauces. I tasted the sangria and it was not watery at all. I have used JMC for several events that were all successes and my friends and family are still talking about the food and the event space at the Gardens. I am looking forward to having another beautiful event and have referred several friends to them as well!

I never write reviews but it was such a great experience, I had to! I just recently attended an incredible John Michael tasting on Sept 12 and wow, very impressive. Where do I begin? The Rosemary Lemon Chicken was probably the best food item I have ever had from any catering company, ever. The Flank Steak was incredible. The Maple Salmon was so good too! They had a corn dish and a cauliflower dish that have turned me into a veggie lover again! Everything was delicious and now we have to figure out what items to select for our menu and not sure how I am going to do that! LOL. They had two bar areas setup so getting drinks was never a problem and there was hardly a wait. The cherry on top was the staff. Refreshing to see everyone smiling and having a good time which is almost always a reflection of the company they work for. So glad we took our neighbors advice and reached out to John Michael! They do these every 2 months from what I was told and super excited to go to the next one as our date is not until May 2025.

I was lucky to have Giselle and the team cater the recent Central Florida gala event, and the food was nothing short of amazing!

Two standout dishes that had our guests raving were the Jumbo Shrimp and Grits with Crumbled Bacon and the Sweet Barbecue Pulled Pork served on top of Garlic Mashed Potatoes with a Fresh Cilantro Garnish.

What truly stood out, beyond the delicious food, was the level of care and professionalism Giselle and the team brought to the table. Ensuring everything was smooth from the beginning to the end of the event.

Me and my fiancé attended one of their tastings last night in the start of our search for a catering company. John Michael's event was absolutely terrible.

I’ll start with the salad, it was your basic spring mix available at Sam’s club mixed with some sorry candied pecans. Much of the lettuce was wilted and rotten and it tasted as such. The chimichurri was also rotten and clearly tasted too old to be served. The Steak was overcooked and dry with zero flavor and could have sorely used the chimichurri.

The salsa served on the chicken was from a jar and not fresh. Cuban tacos didn’t taste anything like expected and had a strong artificial flavor. The meatball was dry and terrible, my fiancé spit it out. The pork slider was dry and flavorless and they had a difficult time keeping up with the demand to try them since they only brought out 6 of them every 15 minutes.

The Sangria apparently had wine in it but it was bland and tasted like fruity water. It certainly didn’t seem to have alcohol even though the staff said it did. In all this was premade generic food that was served without passion or care. If they can’t make food taste good for their own tasting they can’t do it for anyone on their special day.

This was a sad showing and disappointing experience. There’s more to go over but I think everyone gets the point. The food sucked.

Couldn’t say better things about John Michael catering- absolutely a 5 star service every step of the way. Michael and Giselle were fantastic in helping me with my baby shower catering. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were nothing short of outstanding. Will definitely use them in the future!!

John Michael catering is amazing. We had them cater our wedding in April and all of the staff was kind, attentive and so helpful. Not to mention they have TONs of tastings/ options and the food is amazing. All my guests had great things to say.

John Michael's catered our wedding and were amazing the whole time. All of our guests loved the food and the service throughout the night. During the planning they were extremely organized with great communication and always double checked with us for anything that needed clarification. They also hold frequent group tasting events so you can try everything on the menu. They know what they are doing and I highly recommend them.

The menu kept changing while we were planning our wedding. The man we had a final video call meeting with before the big day was rude and dismissive of our concerns. No one told us the drinks would be served in ugly fruit punch cups? Really just felt like we were a number to them. A huge number considering we spent a lot more than necessary for a custom quote and still felt like they couldn't care less.

John Michael catered our event yesterday and what a delicious meal we had, from the kids meal to the amazing variety of adults selection, every bite was better and better, We are so happy with everything we tried, the ice cream bar was a huge hit, the bartender had a smile on his face the whole time and was very patience serving everyone. Thank you so much for the delicious buffet. We will for sure book you guys again in the future.

Our wedding day was amazing! We had some worries about everything that could go wrong but so much of our special day went right that the one or two things that didn't go as planned didn't matter. The John Michael team was communicative all the way up to wedding day. We appreciated them checking in before hand to get all of the details about the venue, dj, ceremony, etc. It showed a high level of preparation and execution. The John Michael team showed up on time and went right to work with getting everything set up. We elected to provide the alcohol for the bar. That set up went flawless.Our guests loved the food selections and we appreciated the team making us a to-go plate that we were able to eat late at night after all the smoke cleared. Our recommendation to other couples is to make sure you inspect the final proposal to make sure that all details are the way that you want. We missed a meat selection item. Shame on us. However, that did not impact our satisfaction with the level of professionalism, the level of service, and the friendliness that we were shown throughout the whole planning process. The tastings prior to the wedding also helped us get perspective on what to expect and what items to select. Great Added value. Good job John Michael.

Wow!! Did they ever do a great job for us and celebrating a 50th Anniversary for the business. The staff took such good care of us and the food......AMAZING!! Definitely will be our go to catering company for all future events.

John Michael catered our wedding and everything was beautiful! Not only was the food top notch but the wait staff was extremely attentive. A big thanks to our personal server, Emily, who took care of our every need throughout the evening. Our bartender, Debbie, made our signature drinks perfectly and the whole event was simply elegant, and everything we'd hoped it would be. I definitely recommend for any catering event large or small.
