Heard about this place and thought we'd stop by. Went in about three steps and knew right away we didn't want to take a seat. People were so crowded together it was like being in an elevator. Maybe they all knew each other? A couple invited us to sit with them. Where, on their laps? Five stars for friendliness.

Yep, the owner is rude but it's a riot to go there. Enjoyed the experience.
Teddy's After Dark is a unique and eclectic spot in the Venice area that's a must-visit. Note that it doesn't serve food, but offers self-service beer and wine, which you pour yourself and pay for on your way out. The bar is tiny, but its charm lies in its quirks. Be respectful, wear a collared shirt, and be prepared for a different kind of night out. Teddy, the owner, is particular about his clientele, but if you're respectful, you'll have a great time. Oh, and don't miss Jolene, the adorable German Shepherd, who makes an appearance at 10 pm.
