I placed an order for goat with rice and beans. When I got home and opened it, the food was undercooked, had no flavor at all, and honestly didn’t even taste like the goat I usually get from here. This was really unusual. It almost never happens.
I called them to let them know I couldn’t eat it and said I was either coming back to return it or would take a refund. The lady on the phone was polite and understanding, which I appreciated.
I went back and said I’d gladly take a refund, but she reassured me that they’d remake the order. Cool, no problem.
But when I got home and opened the new box, it was clearly the same exact food, just tossed back in the fryer and dressed up with some onions and peppers. It tasted even worse. Dry, overcooked, and still no flavor. Total letdown.
What’s worse is I was told this would be a new plate. That was a lie. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told they’re only there on weekends. Who’s running the place during the week then?
Bottom line, they’ll do everything but give you a refund. Really disappointing experience from a spot I used to like.

On Saturday July 26, 2025, I attended with my family an event at Kasa Champet meant to celebrate the musical legacy of Nemours Jean Baptiste but what should have been a beautiful evening, turned into a complete disaster marked by poor treatment of guests, dangerous conditions, and outrageous pricing. Despite having tickets, we were forced to wait outside in 90 degree heat.for over an hour and a half. Among us were elders in their 70s and 80s some with medical conditions, but Kasa Champet’s staff and security guards showed no concern whatsoever. People were pleading to be let in to avoid the heatstroke and there were plenty of empty seats inside and yet we were denied entry. To make matters worse the security guards were aggressive and unprofessional. One guard physically pushed someone from the door, despite the fact that everyone was peaceful and simply asking to be let in. There was no justification for this behavior instead of helping resolve the situation, security escalating it by calling the police which only added to the tension. This was clearly a move to intimidate people who were peacefully voicing legitimate concerns. Once we were finally allowed inside, the air conditioning was barely functioning and the ventilation was poor. It was clear that Kasa Champet was completely unprepared to host an event of this scale. On top of all this, the prices were downright exploitative. A bottle of Alizé passion fruit was being sold for $179.00. Something that normally retail for $20.00.This kind of price gauging is unethical and takes advantage of fans who come to honor a cultural icon, not to be scanned.. The entire experience was a disgrace to what should’ve been a joyous celebration of Haitian music and heritage.
My first time here. I tell the service, drinks, and food was 10 out 10. Definitely be back.

Haitian food is one of my favorite cuisines. This place offers a variety of food from the Haitian culture. They really deserves 5 stars but I'm giving them 4 stars only because the taste of the food is a bit different from what I'm use to, which is ok because this usually depends on who the chef is, but overall the food here is good and plentiful and will leave you satisfied.
The vibe here is also good, I recommend stopping by on a Friday or Saturday evening to get the full experience.

Delicious authentic Haitian cuisine for you and family to enjoy at a reasonable price. You can even host an event there if you're looking to cater it and free yourself from all the hassle. I was invited to an event there and enjoyed the ambience.
