The meat is amazinnggg. We rodered a cachapa with carne en cara as well as an arepa with meat and pico de gallo. Everything was amazing. The servers were very nice and helpfull. Returning for sure!

The food at Super Arepa is genuinely great and the people are always friendly, which is why this situation is disappointing enough for me to leave a review.

My wife and I spend close to $70-$80 here almost every week including tip, and we’ve noticed a change in how the Pepito sandwiches are being prepared over the last few weeks. For those who may not know, a Pepito is a Venezuelan-style sandwich loaded with steak, toppings, sauces, and fillings.

They used to evenly split the steak and toppings between both sides of the bread so every bite felt full and worth the price. Now the bread is being stacked on top of each other, which leaves one side with almost all the steak and toppings while the other side barely has anything on it. It feels like less protein and less food overall for the same price.

‼Before placing my order, I specifically called ahead and asked for the bread NOT to be stacked because of this exact issue. When I arrived after driving 30 minutes, the sandwiches were still made the same way anyway.

At that point I chose not to pay because I didn’t want to spend that much money on something I already knew I wouldn’t be happy with. What upset me most was the wasted trip and the lack of communication. ‼ Even a simple warning over the phone saying, “Hey, just so you know, we changed the way we prepare it,” would have helped.

Again, the food itself is good, which makes this more frustrating because we actually enjoy supporting this place. I just left disappointed, upset, and still hungry after wasting time driving there.

At my first and last time here, the food was good, unfortunately the service charge of 18% included is absolutely unacceptable. First, service was not outstanding at all. Waitress take an order and deliver it to the table, nothin relevant or spectacular. Second, if that’s the restaurant practice, it needs to be announced in advance not at the end when you cannot make the decision to stay or leave. And third, employees should be paid through the restaurant revenues not the customers, in the bill the “tipping” is like have an extra guess at your table. I’m a family of 4 not 5! With the new tax regulations tips will not longer be taxable, so it’s an abuse. I know that tipping practices are controversial but what nobody can denied is that a customer needs to know in advance the rules of the game to make an informed decision, not surprises and not forcing.
