It’s not a welcoming sit in type of restaurant, but I think I was really disappointed in the food. They gave you a lot of overcooked meat minimum vegetables. The meat was so hard and chewy, but it was the aftertaste that made me feel like I really wasted my money. I even picked up my order early and it’s still cold for some reason. I can tell that it was cooked in old grease . I can tell they probably use this grease from the beginning of the day until it’s time for them to close. The rice looks good and I wish I could actually taste it but the after taste from the grease is destroying my taste buds. And I don’t smoke cigarettes just in case you’re wondering if that’s why the taste is different. I used to really love this restaurant and I wish they put as much love into the food as they do into the prices. it just taste like they don’t care anymore. And top this off this isn’t even what I ordered. But what I did, it was a family sized orange chicken with only three pieces of broccoli in it. I hate to say this, but this will be my last time eating here

Very good

Food came out fast, which was a big plus. The flavors were just okay, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. Good for a quick, convenient meal, but not especially memorable taste-wise.

I actually really like this place for Chinese food. I've never had a bad experience here and the food really does always taste fresh. My go to is the cashew chicken with lo mein. At $10 for the dinner, it really is good value for the money and you'll be able to eat it for 2 days.

I have been getting takeout from here for years! I always ask for double meat on whatever I order. Hot and Sour soup is my goto for whenever I have a cold or a comfort pick me up!

Food was hot, had NO flavor.
Beef chow mein nothing but cooked veggies, no noodles. Very little beef.
Beef egg fu yung, first bite was an egg covered shrimp. Again no real flavor.
CrabRangoon, fried till dark shell, hard to chew, tasted like it was cooked in old oil.
Teriyaki chicken on a stick. Again over cooked and almost burnt. Old and dried out, just reheated.
$84 dollars wasted, never again.

Ive been coming here for years and theyve consistently been amazing. Even the simple dishes are delicious and always fresh and hot. This is probably some of the best chinese food in the whole city.

The food is good but it took an hour for my food to be ready. I called ahead and then came after about twenty minutes and waited for forty more. The food is not worth that long of a wait.

Pretty much a take out focus since COVID, but this place kicks! Brother discovered that they had the best ever Mongolian a few years back, and it is actually better (as of today). Great egg rolls and fantastic Lo Mein.
Wife recently tried one of her old favs (after years being stuck on the Happy Family dish), and the Sweet and Sour Chicken was the best ever. She has had to have it twice in the last 7 days. I tried it, as I alway do, despite never liking the dish. I like Mr. Chen's Sweet and Sour! Good thing the wife and I share everything but false teeth! LOL
Try them, or lose out. Up to you! To qualify, I first had Chinese in Chicago in 1975, been eating it since all over the county and in Korea since. Wife is Korean and loves all cuisine, but really loves Mr. Chen's.
