I don't usually name people in my reviews, but there's a first time for everything. My waitress was Hannah H. I went to Shrimp Basket hoping to enjoy a salad and a lemonade. I was dining with a few friends, and everything was going great until it was time to pay the bill. We all paid separately, but somehow my bill came out to over $50 for just a salad and a lemonade. She had charged me for three Cokes, even though I only ordered one lemonade. She also put everyone's drinks on my bill. Even though it seemed like an honest mistake, I let it go after she corrected the bill. My new total was $21.03. I gave her $40, so I should have received $18.97 in change, but she only gave me $18. Where is the remaining 97 cents? If she expected a tip, it should have been my choice to leave one not taken from my change. I should have gone somewhere else, but by then it was too late. This happened at the Shrimp Basket located at 6501 N. Davis Hwy. Unfortunately, Hannah H. ruined what had started as a great dining experience.

I stopped by the Shrimp Basket on Davis Highway to pick up a shrimp basket for my mother and ordered the grouper sandwich for myself. First, I want to give credit where it's due. The young lady at the counter was extremely friendly, engaging, and had excellent customer service skills. She took the time to answer my questions about the menu, and when my grouper sandwich was accidentally left out of my order, she immediately checked with the kitchen and got it taken care of. She represented the restaurant very well. Unfortunately, the food itself was a disappointment. When I got to my car, I looked at the sandwich and honestly thought they had forgotten the fish because all I could see were the buns. After opening it, I found only three very small pieces of grouper, about the size of silver dollars. For a sandwich that cost around $16, I expected a full grouper filet or at least a much more substantial portion. The flavor was fine, but the value simply wasn't there. The amount of fish compared to the size of the bun made the sandwich feel overpriced, underwhelming and an afterthought. Great customer service deserves recognition, but I hope management takes a closer look at the quality and portion sizes. A grouper sandwich should actually look and feel like a grouper sandwich, especially on the Gulf Coast!

The service was a little slow but they only had two waitresses that's why I gave a 5 star on service. The food they were out of a lot of things. The grouper sandwich had a funky taste but our waitress took care of that.

Got there at 7:30p.m. and was told they were out of oysters, which is why we went there, fine I understand.. I ordered all you can eat shrimp, we felt rushed the entire time, the shrimp was sub- par at best. Service was slow the entire time, then we were rushed to leave. We were very upset because we've heard good things!!
Its all about the food, and man was it good! Just a simple plane restaurant with plenty of seats, a great staff and some outstanding popcorn shrimp!

Amazing and friendly restaurant. Our waiter Sam gave our puppy a pup cup and some water. She was very friendly and helpful recommended some different foods for us and told us what was in it with a detailed description. We will definitely be coming back
