I went out of my way to try this food truck and I was NOT disappointed. The fried snapper was fried upon ordering. It was fresh, flakey, flavorful, & crispy! Of course by the time I got home to eat it, some of the skin was soft due to time/steam in the container. The rice portion was delicious and easily would serve 2 or 3 people. The pickled spicy onions and peppers are spicy, tangy, and delicious. Mamaisland Food Truck ATE. No notes.

“I am always skeptical. Like all first-generation kids, our moms make the best authentic foods. When I took the first spoonful of rice, I was shocked. Haiti makes DELICIOUS rice, but a lot of times when we sell food outside of the community, we lower the bar because how would they know (😅)? But not at Mama’s. THIS place is authentically delicious!! Truly the one of the best plates of Turkey frit avèk diri nwa I’ve ever had outside of the homes of my Haitian community.
