Hey, I came here with my wife. I can’t say enough about Dee she was such an excellent server so kind and helpful with making a selection. We are visiting from michigan and this was our first time in St Pete. We had a great time at the Don Cesar and will be back. I got the shrimp orecchiette and she got the Peruvian chicken skewers. Both were excellent. In addition, I had the muscles. Chef Marvin was kind enough to let me special order them without the Thai chili. Yum yum yum. We also got an order of the mashed potatoes, which were really good too.

The place was nice and the food was good. However, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server seemed to be in a hurry the entire time. She would come to the table and leave almost immediately, making it difficult to ask for anything. I actually felt uncomfortable requesting assistance because she always seemed more focused on rushing away than attending to our table.
What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant wasn’t even busy. At one point, she brought us the dessert menu, and while we were ready to order, two people from our table went to the restroom one after the other and returned before she ever came back. In the end, one of my friends had to go look for her and ask for the check directly because we had been waiting so long and were honestly tired of trying to get her attention.
It’s unfortunate because the food and the atmosphere were enjoyable, but the service really took away from the overall experience.

Not good...not the absolute worst. Host was very nice, server was fine. Partner and i both agreed that our dish's ingredients seemed haphazardously chosen, not really combined into the dish. My shrimp tasted like chlorine. Other small issues not worth mentioning. However, i ordered mac and cheese to go and i didn't know one could ruin such a simple dish so badly. I spit out a raw brussels sprout, inedibly spicy, and pasta so separated from the sauce that it tasted like a bad vegan cheese sauce. For $18. I had saved for this hotel and dinner, and it was so disappointing.

Really disappointing experience for a hotel that’s this well-known and expensive, you’d expect the food to be much better. Instead, it was a huge letdown. The dishes lacked flavor and felt overpriced for what we got. Paying $70 for just a salad and an appetizer wouldn’t be so bad if the quality matched—but it absolutely didn’t. Definitely not worth it.

On arrival I noticed all staff wrapped up in fleece jackets. No wonder as even indoors on this chilly night there was no heating. I ordered the vegan dish Casarecce Arrabiata, which came on a luke warm plate. Surely you can provide hot plates for hot food? The overall flavour was very bizarre and had pieces of i believe broccoli thrown over the top. A very poor offering especially in such a premium hotel. I had an odd after taste in my mouth. I would not return.

It’s fine. A little pricey but if you’re staying at The Don, it’s a very convenient and suitable option for any meal. The Red Snapper was surprisingly good and a good sized portion. If you order the Ceasar salad, get the dressing on the side as it’s very flavorful.

Sat outside in the dining area, which is next to the pool area. Not the greatest ambience. Ordered the chicken skewers with the white rice and plantains. White rice was a bit sticky however, the plantains were excellent. My friend ordered the barbecue hamburger. Was cooked well to order and the fries were nice and hot.!
