Git-N-Messy Smokehouse Henry's Depot Sanford

I hope the owner sees this review because ultimately that is who gets hurt with these situations. Today is 7/20 and I observed appalling behavior at this establishment tonight between 6pm- 8ish. The 3 individuals behind the counter all on their phones mingling had terrible attitudes and refused to fulfill orders for several people. I over heard a conversation with the couple in front of me at the counter this is how it went. Customer- “ Hi, can you tell me the difference between the brisket philly and just a normal brisket sandwich” Employee- “Well the Philly is made with different sauce and has onions and peppers.” Customer- “Ok cool I’ll have a Philly then.” Employee- “Oh, well I can’t make you a Philly it takes time and you would have to order that ahead of time..” non apologetically at all! Customer was frustrated and left without ordering anything, next was myself. I asked for the regular brisket sandwich and response to me was “ We don’t have what we need to make that right now.” I was shocked. Like seriously why even be open! So I sat back and grabbed food from another booth and observed these 3 employees do this several times and not make a single item for anyone within at least 2 hours that I sat there. I go here to support small businesses and I suggest you change out who you have decided to represent you.

Brisket was ok. Ordered Jalapeño corn bread and was served packaged store bought corn bread with zero jalapeños in it.

I ordered the smokehouse wings last night, and they were hard and had a strange aftertaste. I have had them in the past, and they were moist, smoky, and delicious. I don't know if they were past their prime or if they have made some changes in their smoking process.

I’m honestly appalled they would even serve this to anyone. No matter the situation. I have had smoked weeks and dozens of places and never received black burnt wings. This is absolutely unacceptable. They have decent brisket but they specifically said the wings were really good. I order them and get this garbage, 15$

Although the service was amazing. Ladies were super nice, I ordered smoked wings only to find cooked feathers (lots of them) on some of the wings. Really upsetting to think the chicken was not properly cleaned before cooking and serving.

Had pulled pork sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce on the side with a side of Coleslaw. Damn good. I can't wait to try more from their menu next time.

Fantastic food with excellent ? staff. The young man who is on register and his mother are a dreamteam who know good BBQ and customer service. Even the back of house have a great attitude and attention to detail that others should aspire to. Clean kitchen and reasonable prices especially for the portion size. Mac n cheese and baked beans are a must and any of there meats are a hit. Well smoked but not over done. Never had a bad experience so far and cannot wait to go back again and again. :DThe jalapeno cornbread they have now added to the menu!!!! is also to die for.So happy about it's addition, delicious ?!

Had the brisket this afternoon with green beans. The brisket was tender and juicy with a brilliant “bark” on the edges. The sweet bbq sauce is one of the best in the business. Green beans had hunks of garlic and a buttery flavor. Excellent food and service. I will be back.

Purchased 10 Lemon Pepper Wings (for me) and 10 Sweet BBQ wings (wife)...received order, got all the way home to find all 20 to BBQ wings.CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING!!

First time at this establishment and it did not disappoint. Both the manager (Mary) and the assistant (Christine) were very patient and accomodating in answering my many questions.Mary explained to that the Carolina Mustard Sauce was like no other, as I told her I was not usually a fan of mustard sauces, but after sampling some at her erging, it was soon to be on my tray.She also gave me a very generous serving of their huge St. Louis Ribs (2) and also 2 sausage. Both were very flavorful and perfectly cooked.The rib meat was very tender and had a nice bark on it and just the right amount of smoke flavor. The sausage was good, but I must admit I have had better in that catagory and is also just my opinion. I prefer Hot Italian Sausage smoked and have a favorite location in another state that serves it.I coupled the meats with their Macaroni & Cheese and Baked Beans. Both were good, but the Mac needed help from salt and pepper (known on our table) and maybe a touch of parmesan sprinkled on top.Christine offered to bring the order to my table which was at the bar end of Henry's Depot and that was very nice of her to do so.All in all, I recommend you give Git N Messy a try and make sure and try the Mustard Sauce along with the other two house favorites, Spicy and the Sweet.

Excellent experience an exquisite restaurant of grilled meats to the B B Q and smoked to perfection that has a diversity of exquisite dishes. Very good attention, it has a large parking lot with easy access. I recommend this place that has other restaurants internally that when sharing in a group offer you different alternatives. It can be enjoyed in the company of the family.
