Disappointing Experience Due to Rude Bartender
I was really excited to visit Sanford with a girlfriend of mine to celebrate a new job opportunity. We loved the setup, the vibe, and the overall space—it felt like the perfect spot to enjoy a great evening. As someone with over 6,000 followers on social media, I enjoy sharing cool experiences and places, and this one started off feeling like a hidden gem.
Unfortunately, things took a turn when we went to order another drink at the bar. I noticed a display of toothpicks with little mustaches on them—cute and quirky, perfect for a photo or shout-out. I picked one up, thinking it was part of the décor or a fun garnish. Without any warning or polite correction, the bartender, Megan, abruptly walked up, snatched it from my hand, rolled her eyes, and said, “Don’t touch my things,” before throwing it in the trash. The male bartender nearby looked stunned and didn’t even know how to respond.
Before we could shake off the shock, Megan returned and began verbally attacking me and my friend. She belittled us over a harmless mustache toothpick and acted completely unprofessional. I’ve never been treated with such blatant disrespect, especially while being a paying customer trying to support a local business.
The space has potential, but management seriously needs to reconsider who they put behind the bar. I would’ve loved to promote this place online, but due to this awful interaction, I can’t recommend it. Great atmosphere terrible service from a bartender who clearly needs a reality check. If I could give the bar service zero stars, I would.

I got to the bat at 6:55, happy hour ended at 7. The bartender stayed talking to other customers until 7pm, I ordered at 7pm on the dot and she told me sorry happy hour is over, it's full price. Annoying, but whatever. The next time I went up, I waited almost 5 mins again while she talked to other people, I finally left, went to the bathroom, came back, she was still talking, but finally ordered. Then trying to cash out, same story, just waiting while she talked. Very annoying. It was my first, and last, time here. The bar was never crowded enough for the wait times....

Me and my boyfriend came here on Friday and we love The Basin. The female bartenders were so nice, and they made our drinks so good! We will defiantly come back here because they had exceptional service, and quality drinks. Great job guys!

The Basin does an incredible job of offering craft cocktails in a Florida style environment while 8 food vendors operate separately within the same vicinity. Being able to serve myself food from a variety of options and enjoy them at the bar is an awesome experience.
You should know as far as ordering food the bar operates separate from the vendors but does have the latest hours of operation.
There are lots of awesome locations in downtown Sanford, the family and locally owned locations are the most worth stopping into.
The team is made up of a group of young people with a desire to work hard, unusual for the generation…

Started the Friday night bar hop with Basin, the vibes, music and drinks were really good. The bar service wasn't amazing but at the same time, it seemed like the bartenders were tending to cleaning the bar vs. a pure bar back. So instead of serving up the drinks or taking orders they would be cleaning and tending to that stuff. It didn't over shadow the experience, but it was noticeable.
