We made reservations back in November for a December date, specifically noting we wanted to be seated at a table (Chef’s table was an option). We received a call a couple of days prior to our reservation alerting us that we would not be at a table but would be seated at the Chef’s table. We declined as I had seen in the photos that the Chef’s table did not look very comfortable. We again made reservations when we were back on the island in the spring, again for a table. When we arrived for our reservation, we were greeted by the owner. She immediately asked me if I would do her a “favor”, the favor being sitting a the Chef’s table. I expressed my dissatisfaction, but she said, “come on, it is a favor.” We felt pressured into accepting the Chef’s table, even though there was a vacant table for two. We were seated at the Chef’s table. The stools are very high and very uncomfortable. We asked to be moved, and the owner quickly moved us. Shortly after we were seated another table for two left and that table remained vacant even as we left the restaurant. My guess is she likes to keep the tables open for regulars. I found it very off-putting to be pressured to do a “favor” when I felt dining at this establishment (and hoping to become a regular) was favor enough. While the food was good and the service impeccable, the treatment we received left a bad taste in our mouth. That was our first and last time dining at Bleu Rendezvous.

This the Classic French restaurant you’re going to share with good friends! We were a group of 10 foodies from various and distinct backgrounds. We did the prefix dinner with wine pairings. Our expectations were high based on what we read about this jem and none was disappointed. The escargot and onion soup were spot on, the trout almondine and Beef Bourguignon were exceptional, but by far the star of the meal was the steak frites. A sublime surprise accompanied by a bordelaise sauce, a side of béarnaise and a small crock of blue cheese sauce shared by the chef! The wine pairings were all from Bordeaux, decanted and beyond excellent. Do not forget to order dessert! I can’t wait for our next rendezvous

While we supported the previous iteration of Bleu Rendezvous for years, we were pleased to see the new owners, menu, and ambiance is so much better than before! This young Parisian couple who own the restaurant, both of whom have culinary school backgrounds, could not be more welcoming and accommodating. Their revolving menu seems to be devoted to introducing Americans to classic French cuisine, rather than dumbing down to local expectations. Fresh, affordable, quality food at reasonable prices. Authentic food and ambiance. You might think you were in Paris!

Great place for fine dining. Open October - May

Intimate very small French-traditional restaurant with creative offerings from starters to desserts. Wine & beer only. Make this a must-do if in Sanibel.

Great food and great service. It’s to bad that the seating is very crowded which in turn created a very loud atmosphere.

Food is excellent, service is good but the table layout is terrible. There are 6 tables in a row so small that only 2 plates and a couple of glasses fit. There’s not a foot between the tables so a withered conversation is not private and when people are seated their butts are 5 inches from you and your plates. Too bad it wasn’t a pleasant experience because again the food was excellent.

I took my wife here for our wedding anniversary dinner. The decor is well done. The staff is attentive and Chef Pierre even came around and introduced himself to all the dining guests before the dinner service hit full swing. It was a pleasant surprise to us.

My wife and I wanted to try everything but we began with the appetizers. My wife ordered the Foie Gras and I ordered the Stuffed Mushrooms and the Escargot. The Stuffed Mushrooms were very flavorful. The Escargot was good but standard fare as it was prepared like most places poached in butter with a nice crusty bread for dipping. The Foie Gras was wonderful. I would absolutely order it again. Prior to the main course in addition wonderful crusty bread we each received a salad with their unique house dressing. It was sublty flavorful and did a great job of cleansing the palate.

They also had a nice selection of wines to go with dinner if you want to indulge. For the Main course my wife had the Trout Almondine which she rather enjoyed. The meal came with a large flavorful skin on Trout fillet with potatoes and haricot verts. Nicely prepared. I had the Halibut. The fillet was a bit small. But it was well seasoned and expertly prepared it came with rice.

The meal for the two of us was a little pricey but if you want the best there is a price to be paid and we did order quite a selection. This was a special occasion dinner for us that we find time to experience several times a year. All in all it was overall a wonderful dining experience. I would absolutely recommend this fine dining establishment to anyone interested in experiencing French Cuisine at its absolute best. Chef Pierre and his wonderful staff make this a dining adventure one to remember. Make sure to make a reservation and this place fills up fast.

Small bistro sized place. Tables are close together, but not an issue. Good French food for the island with friendly staff and ownership.

Wonderful, charming and very European. I ordered the black grouper (chef’s recommendation), my wife and sister ordered surf & turf and BIL ordered a filet mignon. All excellent. We shared a crepe for dessert. The chef came out several times to chat. We will definitely be back.

Bleu Rendez-Vous is a true gem. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted in French by Laurence, the owner, which immediately set the tone for an authentic and welcoming experience. It truly felt like stepping into a little piece of France. And I should know—I’m French!

We started with the escargots, which were perfectly prepared and full of flavor. For the main course, my husband had the steak with truffle fries, and it was phenomenal—cooked to perfection, juicy, and paired beautifully with the crispy, flavorful fries. I had the veal Marengo, which was rich, tender, and well-balanced. Paired with a Pinot Noir, it was an outstanding combination.

To finish, we enjoyed Chef Pierre’s chocolate mousse, which was as decadent as it was delicious—the perfect ending to a flawless meal.

The service was warm and welcoming, the wine selection was excellent, and the entire experience was nothing short of amazing. If you’re looking for authentic French cuisine in Sanibel, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Sat at the chefs counter and had an amazing experience. Everything we ate from appetizers, bread, salad, main course and dessert was absolutely delicious. Watch the chefs cook was also very entertaining because they engage with you. We will most definitely be back.

It’s very rare in Florida that you come across a restaurant that exceeds every expectation.
First of all when I sat there with the music and the atmosphere and the caring staff and owners I really felt like I was brought back 100 years in time to a moment when life was about simple pleasures. And then when I tasted the food. I couldn’t believe I was on Sanibel I was certain I was in a little side street restaurant in Paris, Having found a treasure that only the true Parisian locals knew!
I have been back 6 times in the last two weeks because after you have had chef Pierre’s cooking it’s difficult to eat anywhere else… No wonder the Reservations fill up so quickly.
Thank you Lauren and Pierre For making the special little island Even more special.
