Although popular and great food drinks for tourist, this company when you pay asks on screen to add tip like 15 or 20 percent you can say No because you tip cash in a jar, unbeknownst they add a 15 percent tip to all orders including to go orders! How ripped off do I feel right now? Very! Along with decreasing size of coffees plus a fruit danish we purchased was 6.00 and 2.00 extra for fruit on top. Just say 8.00 so ppl know if they want to pay that.

Stopped into Black Bear this morning for coffee and quick bite for breakfast. The ‘star’ was the blueberry-lemon scope. Really good. My chocolate croissant was good but didn’t need the powdered sugar and was unnecessary. The ham and cheese croissant would have been better without the ‘everything’ topping. Simplicity is better. Coffee was very good. I would recommend Black Bear and would go back again.

We waited a long time in line, but the food was amazing. We had bacon, egg and cheese croissants and shared the delicious cinnamon roll. It was amazing and we sat outside watching all the bike riders.

Tasty gourmet food, nice selection of pastries and drinks. Parking is difficult in the area but it was worth waiting

This was the best breakfast I think I have ever had. And I live in NYC, where you wait in long lines to get James Beard-awarded brunches! Usually I am disappointed in trendy breakfast spots because you wait in long lines and pay $$$ for food you could make yourself. NOT HERE PEOPLE. The bread is freshly baked and DIVINE, even better than the best sourdough loaf I managed to make in a year of Covid sourdough perfecting. The mimosas were so tasty we wanted to know what prosecco they used so we could try to make them ourselves upon our return to our homes in New Orleans, Seattle, and NYC, where we thought the food was superior and learned we ARE WRONG. The biscuits. MY GOD THE BISCUITS (and all three of us grew up in the South, so we like to think we know good biscuits). They must use some secret ingredient or weapon to make those biscuits and I'm hoping they share it with me when they see this glowing review. I will be there again today and again tomorrow and most likely the next day. I'm the tall loud blonde. Please share the biscuit recipe, Black Bear. Everyone else: do yourselves a favor and get yourselves over here and thank me for it. Best breakfast ever.

We arrived by mistake but it was late lunch time and we were hungry. We had sandwiches—a sausage egg biscuit and a ham and cheese. Two beers. $52. The next am my husband said- that’s the best sandwich I ever had. Me too. Everything else was bad but the sandwiches were amazing. And we are picky

I attended the story tellers event tonight. I'd never been here. What I found was a charming restaurant/bakery/bar that provided excellent food and a lovely experience. The chef is passionate about food and providing high quality offerings.

Over priced, imposed gratitud in a poor service environment. Institutional plastic silverware (plasticware) just buy the bread and go home.

This location in Seaside has a great spot and good outdoor seating. We went because we saw very good reviews. I don't agree. It wasn't even that crowded and not in season. From order to food delivery was almost a half hour. No excuse for egg dish and granola bowl. If you just order coffee and pick a pastry at the counter, you will be set.

We had a biscuit sandwich as big as your head! It was great. The pastries seemed overpriced however.

The avocado toast and blueberry muffin was tasty. The egg & cheese biscuit with local greens was tasty, but very crumbly and buttery. I ordered coffee, and they only filled it to about 1 inch from the top. Beware (and there is a sign) that there is a 15 percent tip already added, and then you will be asked to tip on top of that.

I am very careful about seeking out real food, fresh food, local, clean ingredients. Here they have a James Beard nominated Baker and seem to invest in making beautiful breads , pastries, and serving a menu of quality local ingredients. Grassfed beef, local lettuces and heirloom tomatoe on the sandwiches, etc. For lunch I had the homemade tuna salad with the local grilled tuna. Exceptional. Really enjoyed it. A cute little cafe. The only downside was the service was a bit slow. But I wasn't in a hurry.

Wonderful cafe but beware they are once more pre charging a 15% tip then without asking then you are shown a tip screen to tip again They did this last year and stopped. Why are they doing this? It’s counter service not table service.

Rude staff is not worth the wait. Go to Modica instead and enjoy your day. They have good food but the staff is ridiculous.
