Food took too long to get served. Miso soup It was almost cold. The sushi and grilled octopus were delicious. They need more help in the kitchen. We decided to go to another place for dessert. Special instructions about my son's birthday were never acknowledged.

Second time dining here. Really love this place and the patio is delightful. Not sure what happened because our first visit everything was perfectly timed. Last visit from the time we were seated until our entrees came was 2 hours and 15 mins. Maybe longer. It's like our party of four got forgotten. We were having such a good time with friends we didn't really notice at first but then saw other tables that had come in much later than us were being served. Odd. Hoping this is just a once off kinda thing.

First time here. Not impressed as we've had similar foods elsewhere. Only saving grace was the octopus app which was cooked very well and was delicious. Service was okay. Waiter never asked of we wanted a drink prior to dinner. And there was no tea. How is that possible? Can't boil water?

Excellent menu for Asian dishes notable the sushi/sashimi selections. The restaurant has a cool vibe to it. Servers aim to please. We enjoyed our Double Tuna Roll that is one huge roll which did not skimp on the seafood. Diners around us were also ordering it so it is a popular dish. The Chilean Seabass is good; however, the amount of miso is slight which combined with a buttery mixture loss the miso flavor a bit. One hiccup is the Salmon Cappaccio appetizer. Salmon is very fresh but the olive oil, truffle oil, and balsamic vinegar is way too much olive oil that the dish is swimming in it. Less is more for this dish but again the salmon is excellent. Overall a very good place to eat.

Great place, perfect location for opera, ballet and FST. Nice vibe, good food. Crispy tuna app and spring rolls perfectly prepared. Sushi rolls fresh and original. Nice vibe. Our new go to restaurant.

This was our first time ar Rose & Ivy following a performance at the Sarasota Opera House. There is a great selection on their menu to satisfy anyone's tastes. Our waiter was excellent. Attentive, but not overly so. We will definitely be back!

Best sushi in Sarasota. I tried many different sushi places, and this place is the winner by far! They have great appetizers. If you want to eat good quality sushi, this is the place to go!

We met two other couples there, they had been before and recommended we go there. Glad we did...they had just added a whole menu selection of Chinese delicacies...including Bao Buns and Dim Sum. In addition to the sushi and sashimi there are American favorites like steak and pork chops (which looked delicious!) We'll definitely be back!!!

Fish was poor quality and doused in sauce. There also were no basic sushi rolls offered (e.g. tekka roll, maguro etc). Only more complicated rolls. They were also out of almost all the glass pour wines!

We arrived on time for our reservation in the courtyard, and immediately noticed how loud the music outside was. Our waiter (Luis?) was attentive to orders, just spoke very quietly over the very loud music - the four of us mostly had no idea what he was saying. We enjoyed many of the sushi and nigiri options, and the shrimp risotto. The signature rolls (8 pieces) hover just under $30, which is pricey. We were told that a number of those options will disappear with the transition to Rose & Ivy. It's a terrific space; we hope that they keep the sushi options, and moderate their prices.

Not our first time there, and will not be our last. Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service, very trendy ambiance. It's a bit loud in the bar area, and you can still hold a conversation.

We checked out the restaurant at the recommendation of a family friend, was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back. The restaurant was very accommodating with our large party. The staff was very attentive, thoughtful and personable. The Crispy Salmon appetizer and Hamachi Yuzu Kosho roll were among our favorites.

We had a fantastic time. The owner of the restaurant personally welcomed us. The food was excellent and the waiter was superb. We will definitely return. We attended “Carmen” at the Sarasota Opera House so our meal was timely and just the beginning of a perfect romantic experience.

Wonderful place for going out with friends or a date. The grilled octopus is the best in town. The steak is to die for. The venue is huge. Downstairs, a lot of outdoors and upstairs sitting and the building is beautiful. Has a lot of history dating back to Ringling. He owned it back in prohibition.

The food and drink were very good, as was the service. We were a bit upset when we were told that the Hapoy Hour choices were only available at the bar, which was full. We ordered from the regular menu what we would have ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Our impression was that the prices were a bit more, but the portions were also more. They should make it clear that the Happy Hour is only available on their website. This was not the case.
