Best original German sausage in town and a very friendly staff. The coffee is also recommended and the selection of German products.
Mash potatoes were instant not homemade, no whole grain mustard, spatzel was blah no onions or flavor, sour kraut was blah too! Not worth the drive!
Save yourself the trip. This place is all show and no go. Tiny place with hardly no inventory. Big advertising for the bakery and no selection at all. Maybe tomorrow we were told!!! Drive forty miles only to turn around and walk out. Owners couldn’t care less. Much better selection and always all the favorites on available at Italian bakery right down the street. Won’t go back

One word UGH!the atmosphere and look of this place is cold.definitely not upbeat like it’s competitors.stripmall restaurant that used to be a Mexican place.I’m born and raised in Germany and know a thing or two about german food.long story short, worst jagerschnitzel I ever had.lukewarm and dry.flavourless, watery gravy and mushy NOT homemade spatzle.

Took my wife on a date night and we both love German beer, as well as German food. We happen to be down in Sarasota area, but we live in Parrish. I waiter was excellent. He answered all our questions and we got our food in 15 to 20 minutes, which was great! The food was cooked to perfection. The overall place is casual. It was perfect for a laid-back date night for us. I would highly recommend grandpa schnitzel to anyone who likes German food. My wife and both got German Heffeweibeir and I ordered the hunters schnitzel with cream of mushroom gravy. My wife ordered the bratwurst and sauerkraut,, and we finished it all up my splitting the Apple streusel. we loved it all. We will gladly make the 40 minute trip to come back again.

A great German lunch. Tasty and presented with enthusiasm. Good quantity and attractive prices. I had my first ever schnitzel sandwich and really enjoyed it. My wife chose a more familiar plate with red cabbage and potato salad. Very good.
The wall covering which was designed specially and brought from Germany brings a great atmosphere.

Warning: if you're a German food snob like me, you might just find yourself singing 'Deutschlandlied' all the way to Grandpa's Schnitzel! After living in Germany for ten years, I thought I'd seen it all - but this place truly knows its Bratwurst from its Currywurst! Maik, the kitchen mastermind, serves up fresh and flavorful dishes that even my German friends (who, let's be real, are the toughest critics when it comes to their native cuisine) can't get enough of! We're talking authentic, mouth-watering Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, and Spätzle that'll make you want to polka the night away! So, if you're tired of touristy traps serving up soggy Sauerkraut and bland Bratwurst, come on down to Grandpa's Schnitzel! Trust me, your taste buds (and your German friends) will thank you. Prost!
I love German food and this is the real deal. The schnitzel is perfect and the sides (I had kraut and spaetzel to soak up the gravy). Authentic and delicious with a cold German beer to wash it down. I like the Hunter schnitzel with mushroom gravy. 10 out of 10 for me.

This was my first time trying German food. I walked in and was instantly welcomed by staff. I wasn't sure what to order and the waiter suggested a few things and everything was delicious. I also tried a beer flight. I am not usually a fan of darker beers but that was the one I loved the most. Will be back

Sorry, but this was not a great experience! My wife, after a very long wait, got a beautiful veal schnitzel! But it was terrible! It looked good but was tough as shoe leather. Worse, when I tried to cut it, it was really tough and to make matters worse, it had a bad odor!!!
The service was very slow and there weren't a lot of people eating, so she declined his offer to replace the order. My schnitzel was OK, nothing special. I had pork. We and our dinner partners were not impressed. They didn't charge, but she had no dinner.
Not fun!

At the beginning of April we were guests in the small restaurant, run by the German emigrant Mike and his son. Food was great; We think it was authentic German cuisine. Of course adapted to the local clientele - Americans also have their own taste. All in all a successful evening. The good Köstritzer tastes good anyway.? The boss Mike is in a good mood and likes to chat with his guests and you can tell he enjoys his job, even if he certainly has to work more than he does at home. We keep our fingers crossed for both of them to continue to be successful. It's really cool when they say: “You did everything right, you'll never go back to Germany.” We got bonus points anyway because a few pictures of our hometown of Schwerin flickered across the screen in the restaurant! ? so hopefully see you next year!
