Ichiban is my go to place for sushi. In the past ten years we have tried other sushi places but none have been up to the standards of Ichiban. I have a sensitive stomach. So I am picky when it comes to how it prepared and hiw cold they keep their product. Talking about sushi. I want my raw fish kept cold . Thats what you get at Ichiban. Not once have I had any illness or stomach problem after eating their sushi. I feel like its family when I eat there. They are so nice and helpful.

Ichiban Restaurant Sushi Bar is an absolutely best place to eat in Sarasota, HANDS DOWN. The yellowtail is consistently the most fresh and delicious in Sarasota, and the yellowtail nigiri is absolutely amazing. Quality of the nigiri is high across the board. The clear soup, tempura options, and spicy ponzu sauce are also fantastic. The scallop salad gunkan is quite nice for something different on the all you can eat menu. For a budget conscious place, the sushi was okay but not the best; it is a really casual spot for a solid option. The 4 roll combo is a go-to, and the Volcano roll is a must. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. They are incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond for diners. For anyone with a seafood allergy, the sushi chef made sushi without any fish or shellfish with amazing flavor combinations. Ichiban is a best kept sushi secret in Sarasota and a must eat spot.
