Il Petraro New Haven-Style Apizz’ Truck

We have eaten many types of pizza from all different places and this place is a top contender. The staff were kind and explained a little bit about the pizza. The style of pizza they do is a thin crust, made extra done but the crust still had a little bit of a chew to it. It was perfect! They let us know that this pizza is meant to be eaten as soon as it is served. Which was not a problem because it looked so delicious, we didn't want to wait! I can't wait to try other topping combinations on our next visit.

We had the pleasure of meeting Dan and his crew at Sun King Brewery in Sarasota. After talking to him, he said they make their pizza from Italian flower and all natural ingredients. And let me tell you, you can definitely tell. It’s probably the best pizza I’ve had in Sarasota and they sell out FAST. I’m so glad I came across this food truck and I cannot wait to try another one of their delicious pies!!

If you’re looking for authentic New Haven style pizza in Sarasota, this is the spot! The crust is thin, perfectly charred, and has that amazing chewy texture you can only get from a real high heat oven. The sauce is flavorful and balanced the toppings are super fresh. Every bite tastes like classic East Coast pizza done right.

Hands down the best pizza in Sarasota worth every drive and every slice!

My Family and I tried 2 pizzas from there today and it was spectacular. We ordered one half White pizza and the other half pepperoni ricotta with hot honey. The second pizza we ordered was the margherita. We loved how the owner suggested we try at least a slice before we took the rest home that way it wouldn't get soggy and we could taste the full flavor and crispiness of it. We really enjoyed it and will certainly be back soon. Very helpful and friendly staff too. Thank you

Literally the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! I would go everyday if I could. It’s so good I hope they start making extra large sized pizzas cause it’s just that good. Can’t get enough! That pizza is made with love I swear.

Dan IS New Haven Apizza! I grew up in East Haven and always thought pizza was the same until I left CT... As I get older, finding a high quality pie is hard to come by. Dan is Legit Apizza!

At my request my husband picked up four pies for our family yesterday. It has been so hard to find decent pizza since I left NY in 96. They greatly exceeded my expectations. If you want legit northern style pizza, I couldnt recommend more. I have tried pizza from every where recommended and it was always missing something. This place brings the flavor and homemade authenticity from a true pizza expert. You can tell that so much heart goes into every slice. LOVE! A++
