Went for a birthday dinner and it was excellent. From service to food outstanding. What a gem in downtown Sarasota.
Everything was flavorful, fabulous and all served by a friendly staff- Our Group of 6 has all made this a repeat when in Sarasota-
Indigenous is a superb Sarasota restaurant in a relaxed quaint house-setting. The menu is chef curatedqg weekly, highlighting select farm to table specialties. From appetizer and entrees thru dessert, each dish was outstanding! The service is professional and friendly, and we appreciated our server, Bex, attentive and helpful with menu choices. Highly recommend, we look forward to returning soon!
Got to try 4 dishes. Mushroom Bisque (one of the best I have ever had) Cobia Crudo very good as well. Scallop Scampi great combo of flavor. Then the Triple Tail. (It was disappointing and had a mealy texture my guess is it was either over cooked or possibly enzymes began to break down the meat, but was not good.
Loved everything! Limited food choices since it's a small kitchen but everything 5 star food!
Amazing food and usually a wonderful atmosphere, but there was a large table of men in the small wine cottage where we were seated, and they were loud and obnoxious.
Georgia was the best!! We were visiting from Miami and we had such a nice experience. Indigenous is a must if you are visiting.

We had an amazing dinner. Pickle plate was a delicious bite of food. Roasted mushrooms on pappadum also very tasty. Pork Chop and Red Lentil Panisse were excellent; very large portions. Finished off the meal with Dream Bar, decaf and tea served in nice pottery mugs which kept hot beverages hot. Extensive beer list and a tasty local kombucha. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A wonderful first meal of our minibreak vacation in Sarasota.

Fantastic! What a memorable experience. Katy was superb with her recommendations and attention to detail. She made my birthday celebration one to remember. Highly recommend Indigenous! We'll be back....

Average food in a great location with wonderful atmosphere . I am not sure what the hype is with this place . The food is just average based upon dishes we had . Salad was excellent and flavorful as well as the beignets . The rest not so good .
The service was below par as it it seemed the waiter did not want to deal with the questions I had on the entrees. He was short and did not explain the dishes adequately. Almost seemed like we were doing him a favor for eating there.
I would give it another try but I would need a different t waiter.

Absolutely phenomenal. This experience is truly 5 star from start to finish. The quality of the food is outstanding and all of the dishes are so unique. The mushroom bisque was exceptional, but you really cannot go wrong with anything. Staff were kind, attentive, & knowledgeable. Very glad we made a stop here while in the area & highly recommend to anyone looking for an incredible meal.

Wonderful restaurant! Truly one of a kind dining experience with high quality, ethically sourced, extremely unique dishes. Staff was amazing, food was delicious—highly recommend.
October is the perfect time of year for a meal at Indigenous. It's cooled off and it's not too busy. Food and ambience were both great. We had a lovely time with a friend and will certainly be back.
Whether you sit inside or out, this place has a welcoming humble and homey vibe. It's menu rotates options and always has something interesting and new, and the food is always divine. Well worth it price!
