Chef Phelps continues to offer the freshest and most delightful food. His fish always is fresh caught, and his sides and apps represent local produce in wonderful ways!

We loved our anniversary meal where each dish provided a fantastic balance of flavors (pork belly, mushroom bisque, and 2 amazing burgers). The service was wonderful: from the hostess who happily reseated us to accommodate our preference for the quieter room, to our waitress Olivia's attention to detail. We enjoyed the entire evening and hope to make Indigenous an anniversary tradition.

Indigenous was a laid back, enjoyable culinary experience. We were seated at a table on the patio with the breeze and fan making it very comfortable. Our server, Olivia, was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We had the honey, pear, Parmesanand thyme beignets were amazing. The baked scallops tender and juicy. We'll definitely be back again.

Every dish our party of 5 tasted was delicious. The wine list provided a reasonably priced excellent NZ Sauvignon Blanc as well.

Absolutely our favorite place to eat! Every bite is perfection and the wait staff, chef and even the hostess made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Thanks so much for making our celebration spectacular!

Greeted with warm smiles. Great ambience. Every time we are in Sarasota first restaurant we book. Mushroom bisque and pork chops are our favorite !! Cobia dish was delicious!! Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sarasota!!!!

Among ordered plates mushroom bisque was good. Snapper although well placed and not dry lacked flavor, eggplant kofta was dry and the apple/pear cobbler was horrendous: barely any fruit, the crunchy crumble was soggy mess at the bottom of the cup and frozen mascarpone cream didn't make this dessert any better

This restaurant is fantastic! The fact that it's in a converted house means the small rooms and warm atmosphere really adds to the dining experience. And the food is outstanding. The menu is small, but when you see the size of the kitchen you will understand why. The Parmesan Benignets were so delicious, and the Cobia main course was wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive, and Olivia was top notch.

Wonderful selection of wine and beer. The snapper and cobia were fresh. The snapper was the better of the two imo. The cornbread ice cream was interestingly very sweet. The orange gelato was refreshing. Sit outside if possible, a little cramped inside. Dog friendly outside seating.Street parking or pay to park in nearby lot.

All the staff was excellent . Kathryn was our server and she was terrific! We've had her before and we're so happy to have her again. The burger was amazing!! We requested and were able to sit out on the patio. We wanted to have the beignets for dessert but we were too full ! Next time! I know they are an appetizer but we love them for dessert.

We were visiting from SE Florida for one night and decided to give Indigenous a try and WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED!! Everything was perfect from our table to our server Olivia to the yummy perfectly paired ingredients.. yumm Perfect night at a perfect lil gem. Get the beignets !!!

Lovely setting, nice service, red snapper was delicious, scallops were a bit underwhelming. I wish the menu would change a little more often - it seems like every time we eat there it's small variations on the same dishes. We'd still rate it 4 stars.

One of the truly best restaurants in the Sarasota area. We drive down from Bradenton. The food is innovative and elegant while paying homage to a lovely Southern French tradition. Always interesting vegetarian options and a firm focus on local ingredients, especially responsibly sourced fish and animal proteins. An elegant, relaxed vibe, both on the lovely covered terrace and the interior dining room. Well trained staff, well informed. A definite must go.
